dtrs5kprs Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 Did not fish Monday, spent the day in Branson looking at frogs with my daughter, who turned 13 on June 9. She is going to be the crazy frog lady. Fished with the boy today, in between some of the heavier rain. Did not want to subject him to too much on the first day. Scratched out 6 keepers on that bait I get accused of mentioning too often. Mix of brown, green, and spots. Mostly in 5'-15', and quite a few around docks. No killers, just family fun. Most interesting thing was being under the resort dock with Mike Webb and his clients, especially when he came back with a tire on his front deck. Said they were near the bridge when it came off an RV, flew off the bridge, and splashed down where they had just been a few seconds earlier. Pretty close call.
dtrs5kprs Posted June 10, 2014 Author Posted June 10, 2014 Pic did not attach. Basically the average keeper. Did not get a pic of Mike's new tire and wheel.
Quillback Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 Good to see that the "Bait we shall not mention" is still catching them. I bet the kids are excited to be here!
Members gatorbitu Posted June 10, 2014 Members Posted June 10, 2014 Nice job! Glad you and the family got on them.
Ham Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 Are you fishing the midwest finesse rig on baitcasters too? Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish
willyfish Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 That is really as good as it gets. I need to get my little nephew down there to experience it.
dtrs5kprs Posted June 10, 2014 Author Posted June 10, 2014 Are you fishing the midwest finesse rig on baitcasters too? Yes, but not today. Those were topwater, a big shakey head, fb jig, and a scrounger. I do have one set up for flipping on a 2/0 flip hook. Really did not see any bushes with enough water for flipping. Maybe that is going up the James or elsewhere.
fishingaddiction Posted June 11, 2014 Posted June 11, 2014 Thanks for the report Dave. Glad you and the kids are having a good time. That is some story about the tire flying off the KC bridge! Born to Fish. Forced to Work.
Guest Posted June 11, 2014 Posted June 11, 2014 My son turned 2 on June 9th, then I turned 37 on June 10th. Gemini's are awesome! Good report
