bfishn Posted June 20, 2014 Posted June 20, 2014 Gentlemen, (insert Groucho Marx voice) and I use the term loosely, some really fine fishermen fish from very unpretentious vessels. Some really fine fishermen fish from rigs I would love to own (want to give me yours Quillback?) It's not about the ride. It's about the attitude. Ray Scott had it wrong. Fishing is not competitive. Neither are the vessels we use. Roger dat. All dat. (your Groucho could use some work) I can't dance like I used to.
5bites Posted June 20, 2014 Posted June 20, 2014 I'll have to reveal my age and say I have no idea who Groucho is.
bfishn Posted June 20, 2014 Posted June 20, 2014 That's just sad. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dEFd_2_b6X8 I can't dance like I used to.
5bites Posted June 21, 2014 Posted June 21, 2014 Ok I knew about him. I've never watched him though. I'll go see him in concert.
bfishn Posted June 21, 2014 Posted June 21, 2014 Good one. But you miss the point. It's sad that someone your age wasted 15 words posing an OT question on a fishing forum when you could have just googled "Groucho". I can't dance like I used to.
5bites Posted June 21, 2014 Posted June 21, 2014 That's true but I resisted because I figured that would also contribute to the age thing lol.
5bites Posted June 21, 2014 Posted June 21, 2014 Besides I've noticed few topics remain on the original topic for very long. I like it that way.
bfishn Posted June 21, 2014 Posted June 21, 2014 Me too. Topic is as topic does. Forest Gump. If you don't know who he is... well, the sky is falling. I can't dance like I used to.
Quillback Posted June 21, 2014 Posted June 21, 2014 Gentlemen, (insert Groucho Marx voice) and I use the term loosely, some really fine fishermen fish from very unpretentious vessels. Some really fine fishermen fish from rigs I would love to own (want to give me yours Quillback?) It's not about the ride. It's about the attitude. Ray Scott had it wrong. Fishing is not competitive. Neither are the vessels we use. If I was going to fish walleye I'd want your rig. I try and stay out of these "What's the best motor/boat/rod/reel/line" discussions because they tend to go sideways pretty quickly.
Champ188 Posted June 21, 2014 Posted June 21, 2014 Only about some people. Maybe if you live to be 75 yrs old you might be judgmental as well. Of course you got a lot of walking thru life yet to do. Nope have no idea where they fished and could care less. I only fish about 2 hrs a day and never more than 2 miles from my house. Glad you clarified that Old Plug coz I have a glitter boat with not two but THREE graphs and I use white rods. The big thing to me is color coordination, thus my silver truck to match the white/silver/gunmetal boat. I also fish in white shirts quite often so I can be in harmony with my rods. Being the social butterfly that I am, I couldn't imagine life without any of the above. Perish the thought.
