ollie Posted July 10, 2014 Posted July 10, 2014 He's a thief plain and simple from what I have read and seen. That's ok though because the feds will take him to court where he will lose and lose more than what he already has. They will tie him up in court forever and then his grand kids will have to pay his debt. At least that's the way I see it going down. "you can always beat the keeper, but you can never beat the post" There are only three things in life that are certain : death, taxes, and the wind blowing at Capps Creek!
Old plug Posted July 10, 2014 Posted July 10, 2014 Slme sort of armed internal conflict is coming our way. I a. absolutely 100% sure of it. It is very scary pronouncement and I know I will catch heat about it. Greed ,Injustice, fragmentation of our beliefs through the self serving media and racism all fueled but drugs and alcohol. Perfect setup for the destructive attitude that is prevailing.
Greasy B Posted July 10, 2014 Posted July 10, 2014 Thief and delusional numb skull. If this character represents some kind of movement or revolution he sure isn't doing his cause any favors. Some random questions: Does this Bundy dude have a late model truck in his driveway? Is that truck the result of a government business tax credit incentive? Do the unpaid grazing fees reflect market value? Is a civil war possible in one of the least corrupt, most wealthy, most stable countries in the history of mankind? His father touches the Claw in spite of Kevin's warnings and breaks two legs just as a thunderstorm tears the house apart. Kevin runs away with the Claw. He becomes captain of the Greasy Bastard, a small ship carrying rubber goods between England and Burma. Michael Palin, Terry Jones, 1974
Riverwhy Posted July 10, 2014 Posted July 10, 2014 I'm a conservative. Bundy is in the wrong and should pay up for grazing our land,.
Wayne SW/MO Posted July 10, 2014 Posted July 10, 2014 I don't see an armed conflict or uprising. Unlike some countries we have a peaceful solution, we just have to learn to use it and start ignoring the diversionary tactic of one party against another. If the candidate representing your orefered party doesn't reflect what is inportant to you, vote the other, or don't vote in that contest. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
Brian Sloss Posted July 10, 2014 Posted July 10, 2014 The guy is an idiot and is in the wrong and has been found to be wrong in court numerous times. I use public land in the operation of my business and have to pay the forest service their share, as I should. I know I could not go 20 years not paying and still be allowed to operate and neither should he. www.elevenpointflyfishing.com www.elevenpointcottages.com (417)270-2497
Tim Smith Posted July 10, 2014 Author Posted July 10, 2014 Well if he wasn't paying the rent, why is it surprising they wanted him off? If he was paid up and they were trying to run him off, he'd get my full sympathy. Wait....isn't it still Federal land? You're not saying once someone starts using public land, they're entitled to it forever? If the Feds are managing the land, they have the right to adjust management schemes and decide how much extraction/development/recreation etc. occurs there. If those cattle were damaging that land to the point that they needed to come off it, it's the Fed's who decide that (although apparently that wasn't the case here). Similarly, when conflicting uses (for instance mining and grazing) are in close proximity, it's the Fed's who administrate what kinds of mitigation are needed, which one takes precedence and where. The public gets their say over the use of that land through permitting, public hearings, and the influence of elected officials. There aren't really any options to that arrangement. And I agree with you, F and F about the growing potential for a civil war, although I would frame the problem from the other side. We do have too many laws, but the days of Davy Crockett and the wild frontier are long, long gone. We can't just snap our fingers and pretend the world will ever be that simple again. Think we can live without the EPA? I personally do not want to go back to the days of burning rivers and Love Canal. The moaning I hear about over-regulation has so far offered no other solutions to the problems that government has stepped in to solve....and yes in the case of conservation and the environment, the government has done significant good. If the Libertarians could offer something other than mumbling and cussing on issues like this, I might even be tempted to join them. Unfortunately, so far, they've offered butkus.
Quillback Posted July 10, 2014 Posted July 10, 2014 You're reading more into my response than I meant. I never said anything about being entitled to it (the land) forever. As I understand it, these leases run for 10 years. So, if the lease was paid for, and the rules were being followed by the person holding the lease - and before the lease expired the feds swooped in and expelled the lease holder, then yes I might have sympathy with the holder. I'd at least want to know if there was a valid reason for the expulsion, before assuming that the federal government is making the correct decision.
