I have a tree that is bubbling muddy goo up out of the ground.

WTF is going on here? Is it a root leaking water? During the middle of the day when it's hot it actually stinks like there's something dead coming out of it.

Pics not loading..... Hang on

Did the roots penetrate a septic system?

Yeah i was wondering if a septic tank was overfull and found a seam to your place? I suppose if it is the smell would give it away. How about it is something dead, groundhog or the like that died and the gas has pushed the remains to the surface?

I would probably pour a cup of bleach in the hole and put a rock over it. :D

Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.

It looks to me like something is digging there. I've filled it in several times but it just keeps opening back up.

When you dig down it just goes to a big root about a foot deep, but there's no evidence of anything chewing on the root.

I dunno, but it's weird.

FW - you might be the next Jed Clampett. There is oil down there. Try lighting it.................. LOL!

After all the crap that went into the ground here during/and after the tornado I'm afraid to.

I dug it up again on that side of the tree and it is all dry underneath the bubbling goo hole so I don't understand whats going on. I am going to leave the roots exposed for awhile. I just wanna know if it's leaching out of the tree or coming up out of the dam ground.

No signs of anything chewing on the roots.
