Old plug Posted July 25, 2014 Posted July 25, 2014 Well Seth you seem like a pretty darn good SM fisherman I imagine the people who know you in real life have no doubt you ability. That is the only people that really matter anyway. Only thing I wonder about is if you have ever stepped on a hook in your bare feet. ???? They are real hard to get out of bare feet.
Seth Posted July 25, 2014 Author Posted July 25, 2014 Well Seth you seem like a pretty darn good SM fisherman I imagine the people who know you in real life have no doubt you ability. That is the only people that really matter anyway. Only thing I wonder about is if you have ever stepped on a hook in your bare feet. ???? They are real hard to get out of bare feet. I like to think of myself as a decent fishermen, but there are guys I know and fish against in my bass club that have many more years of experience that I would consider much better at it than me. Some of the folks on here are against tournaments and I can understand why, but they have helped improve my fishing tremendously in a short time. A few of the guys I fish against have helped me out plenty to speed up my learning process on catching these awesome fish. Heck most of the guys on this board have probably forgot more about smallmouth than I have learned. I've never had a hook in my foot and hopefully I never do. I always make sure to not leave hooks laying around in my boat. 90% of the time I have shoes on though anyways. I was just in the water not too long before this so I had kicked my shoes off and was letting my feet dry out.
Ozark Sweetwater Posted July 25, 2014 Posted July 25, 2014 Great fish Seth, Congrats! In regards to taking photos, to me there is nothing more boring than the standard "hero" shot. It has nothing to do with trying to make the fish look bigger, it's just about having a better picture. In my opinion, I would rather have pics like the ones below over a "hero" shot. Just my opinion... http://ozarksweetwater.com
Seth Posted July 25, 2014 Author Posted July 25, 2014 I wish I would have gotten a release photo. Those are nice.

MOsmallies Posted July 25, 2014 Posted July 25, 2014 Congrats Seth.... I've still only caught one over 20" and I can still remember every detail about it. I still consider that 20.5" smallmouth my greatest feat in fishing. More so than any 5 lb largemouth, a 17" crappie, 30 lb blue cat, and a 200 lb Blue Marlin. I guess that tells you how much I love smallmouth!!! Enjoy it, cause the next one may not come for a long time, or it could come on your next trip! Mitch - You're such a $h!t disturber
Greasy B Posted July 25, 2014 Posted July 25, 2014 A 20 incher is a big deal for a typical Ozark Smallmouth'er. I have only broke that mark once and It's been so long ago I actually had hair on my head at the time. As far as pictures go, size, background and perspective don't matter, the only really important ingredient beside not contorting the jaw is a tell tale drop of water dripping from the fishes tail. His father touches the Claw in spite of Kevin's warnings and breaks two legs just as a thunderstorm tears the house apart. Kevin runs away with the Claw. He becomes captain of the Greasy Bastard, a small ship carrying rubber goods between England and Burma. Michael Palin, Terry Jones, 1974
