Flysmallie Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 Nor would most of us bass guys pay a dime for a Woolly Bugger. You might if you see how well it works on a drop shot.
Jerry Rapp Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 You mean like the Ned rig for example. A low cast easy way to absolutely knock the fish for a loop when they are < 20 foot deep. I have yet to try the Ned at Clearwater Lake or the other little lake I like to fish in the cooler months. But I will sure be trying one come autumn. I have been "shown" enough proof on this board that is a very effective little rig.

Champ188 Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 Duo Realis are $13; Megabass X-Plose are $23 and up, depending on where you get them ($27 by the time you add tax and shipping).
Members Bigfishscott Posted August 20, 2014 Members Posted August 20, 2014 I'm amazed!!! People will gripe about price of a bait, but will go out of their way to pay 50 thousand for a boat just to look the part!!!!!
Members Bigfishscott Posted August 20, 2014 Members Posted August 20, 2014 What is even more amazing is a guy will go to the bitter end not to buy something, bitching all the way about the price. Saying it won't work. But when his buddy kicks his butt on it, he'll go buy 200 dollars worth. 13 dollars isn't much. Most people will eat a 30 dollar steak dinner and to just crap it out. Buy one and try it. If it doesn't work for you, your not out much. You can't grip if you don't try. Just like don't bitch about the president if you don't vote.

ness Posted August 21, 2014 Posted August 21, 2014 Nor would most of us bass guys pay a dime for a Woolly Bugger. To each his own.To each his own, for sure. So, are you saying you're loading up on these at $27? Or even $23? Or the alternative at $14? I just can't imagine spending that on a single lure, much less a bunch of them. I guess I see them as an overpriced re-tread of old ideas. But what do I know? Now, as to wooly buggers -- I didn't mention them, so I'm sensing a little prejudice against fly fishermen. Am I right, and if so, why? John
