Has anyone tried using a prop rigged for swimming on a jig & grub?. The Whistler Jig is designed for live bait and has a bend in the hook to hold the prop & bead in place. http://www.northlandtackle.com/Category/main.taf?cat=55

It works for walleye and pike in Canada on a cast and retrieve. I'm not sure how a grub would look on it though.

I betcha that whistler jig would be awesome with a tiny brush hog, for the river bass.

I used these quite a bit fishing for smallies in Canada, it worked well so I figure it will here too. I mainly used pink and orange heads with a black or silver 3" grub

I threw the duo realis 80 this weekend some. I never had a great opportunity to use it the way others have been. I was in dirtier water than these were designed for most of the time. It's a neat bait though and I will be keeping it on hand to learn more about it. It casts like a rock too.

I'm like Babler ... I'd like to learn more about catching suspenders on it when there's no surface activity. This fall should be a good time for that, too. I'd especially like one of those 4-pound TR spots to latch onto it!

I'm thinking this fall when the bass are chasing shad, might be a good time to fish the Duo.

I think you're right. I saw zero schooling activity this weekend. Just one here and one there. I was to busy with a big worm and square bill to mess with throwing the spy bait. Not that I was hauling them in but I was learning a new area. I think it's got potential as a bridge bait too.

I want to try the 90 and gfix on 8lb flouro using baitcasting gear. Zipping it around docks and cedars could be a good thing at times.

im going to invest in a couple and after reading bill's review i.m going to hook it up to a Boo Yah single blade Boo rig and try it on suspending fish and also on the flats where ive been catching some good fish last couple of weeks

I got my new toy in the mail.

Its surprisingly small & delicate looking.

Paint job is top notch,

The lead weights are pretty heavy in comparison to a jerkbait.

The front prop spins freely & the back is about 30% more friction, not sure why.

The props seem to be an afterthought or window dressing versus a function of the design.

Its a head scratcher, but the Japanese are refining something here.

I've seen enough YouTube videos to see how others fish it.

I will not be using #4 test, I'm starting with 8# & will drop to 6# if necessary.
