rainbow Posted August 28, 2014 Posted August 28, 2014 Phil and everyone involved did everything they could to keep the situation from getting any worse than it was. I also attended the event and my contribution to this topic is to ask for everyone's continued prayer for Father Gary who is now with God.
Lancer09 Posted August 29, 2014 Posted August 29, 2014 It doesnt even have to be an accident. life is precious. twice in every day life I've been around people who collapsed. One turned out to be ok at the grocery store, and was thankfully responsive. I was the first to him. second instance someone collapsed on the trail outside chesterfield family center where I worked. By the time I got to him with the aed the paramedics were there. I watched them deliver 4 shocks. Dont know if the guy ever made itm

ColdWaterFshr Posted August 29, 2014 Posted August 29, 2014 Wow, quite a story and experience Phil. Scary, heroic, and tragic all wrapped up in one.
stlfisher Posted August 29, 2014 Posted August 29, 2014 Yeah, just a sad story and quite the experience.
Mitch f Posted August 29, 2014 Posted August 29, 2014 Great job Phil, God Bless you. How long do you think the guy who died was actually in the water before the CPR? I think the rule of thumb is you loose 10-15% chance of recovery for every minute you're out. "Honor is a man's gift to himself" Rob Roy McGregor
Boobie Posted August 29, 2014 Posted August 29, 2014 Great job Phil and the Billets..... There is no better feeling than stepping up big for someone who really needs your help.Everyone should consider a CPR class. Its not that hard just have to learn the proper way. you never know when you might need it ,and who(friend, loved one, child, anyone).
