fishinwrench Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 The location and topography of that piece of land is less than desirable, but I'm sure one of the land snatchers in the area are prepared to write a check.
ness Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 I don't know the place, and haven't been to Bennett Springs in years. But it's always kinda sad when a small business goes down the tubes like that. Gotta pay those taxes before anything else. John

Yes I know one on the other side of the river wanting to own all they can from their place down to 64 HWY bridge. They've just got to 64 HWY. oneshot
fishinwrench Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 Gotta pay those taxes before anything else. Well, a family has to eat and have a place to lay their head too. I have a hard time believing that Circle J generated enough yearly income to support much more than 3-4 humans. It isn't uncommon for folks to get trapped in a poverty level business. Kinda sad to hear the IRS and county law teaming up to end all hope. I can't help but wonder if the seizure motive has to do more with the wireless tower site than with any tax deficit.
mic Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 Like Bill Cosby (Fictional Character) to Theo: "The government comes for the regular people first."
Greasy B Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 If anyone has anything at Circle Js need to get it out within next 24 hours. IRS is confiscating everything. oneshot I'm disappointed. When I read title I thought no more rude fishermen, backward hatchery managers, wardens hiding in the bushes and other circle J's. Kidding aside, my heart goes out to anyone going through financial difficulties. Very few of us go through life without ever experiencing the anxiety that comes from not knowing if you'll have a roof over your head or food on the table. His father touches the Claw in spite of Kevin's warnings and breaks two legs just as a thunderstorm tears the house apart. Kevin runs away with the Claw. He becomes captain of the Greasy Bastard, a small ship carrying rubber goods between England and Burma. Michael Palin, Terry Jones, 1974
oneshot Posted September 30, 2014 Author Posted September 30, 2014 Ok New Info. The IRS notified the guy running the place 45 days ago to inform everyone to get their stuff out. He didn't. This is the reason they are giving everyone such short notice. They are giving them until 5PM Today 9/30 to have everything out. They can come back and sue him for loses but won't do any good he won't have anything. It is Bad up there right now many are very upset and rightfully so, from what I understand there has been several fights. I have understood the Guy is looking at many other charges not saying until all the details come out. So far they are saying they will auction everything Nov.14, 2014. This is one of the Biggest things I've seen around here in years. oneshot
Wayne SW/MO Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 I doubt the IRS can auction anything that the guy doesn't have title too. It won't take a judge long to have the IRS give proper notice now that they are the new "Owners". So you think the Burn's will jump the bridge Oneshot? They would probably rather have Keith's place if he ever sells. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.

Did talk over State Park possibly getting the Restaurant but like I told her why would they want it. From what I'm told the IRS didn't have to give any notice because of them being Federal but your right they should give more notice. oneshot
