snagged in outlet 3 Posted October 29, 2014 Posted October 29, 2014 Ham, Yes, I have been wading in from the golf course for quite a few years now. Before min flow the area from the boat ramp on the state park side up to the dam was awesome. Very still shallow water and lots of big spooky fish. I hear you on the Norfork. It can get ugly fast. Especially walking up from handicap to the second shoal. I quit doing it last year. I was thinking of coming down for your winter trip but I don't know anyone. Pete
Ham Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 You don't know us until you come meet us. You will be made welcome for sure, but be aware it is called Jigfest for a reason. I'm sure we'll have enough boats to find you a seat. It's gonna be fun. Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish
joeD Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 Minimum flow keeps fish alive in the summer. Right? Trout? In Arkansas? Next, AG&F needs to manage rainbows on the White for size. Imagine the possibilities if rainbows were allowed to grow in certain sections. The White would be stellar. Big browns. Big rainbows.
snagged in outlet 3 Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 Thanks Ham, I'm deadly with an 8 foot fly rod and a spinning reel on it. Fly fishing is probably the least efficient way to catch fish, but I love it. I'll monitor your thread and see if I can make it. You'll have to sell me some Zig jigs though. Pete
Ham Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 Generally speaking, If you fish with me, you get to use my stuff if you want / need to do so. I'm like a crack dealer giving you the first hit for free. Zig Jigs will ruin you quickly. I've got lots of jerkbaits, spoons, inline spinner, and trout crankbaits that rarely hit the water anymore. I still have some sample packs that Richard gave me to hand out last year. I've been giving them out ever since then. I'll be glad to hook you up with one of those. He gave me sample packs, I have bought 12 dozen and sold 24 more....... He is a Dealer, in CATCHING.... enjoys sharing I am Grateful. Ham Posted October 31, 2014 Posted October 31, 2014 I'd like to think that I'm starting to figure the Zig Jig thing out a little bit, but honestly with a little instruction and practice most anyone can catch a bunch of fish with them. You can catch more trout with them than is believable to some folks. Lol. Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish
