mixermarkb Posted November 27, 2014 Posted November 27, 2014 The funny thing is, aside from the matte color paint jobs on most of the new warts, they sound very different. Of course, there are at least 3 different sounding rattles in the "pre rapala" warts I have, so who knows if it makes any difference at all. I'm just happy I caught a bass on one when I was about 13, and managed to talk my dad out of a few pretty much every time I went with him to Grandpa Piegon's for a while there. Soooo, I'm 40 now and still have some of that stock left!
Guest Posted November 27, 2014 Posted November 27, 2014 You should check eBay for natural brown craw & look at the prices. It's insane
5bites Posted November 27, 2014 Posted November 27, 2014 You should check eBay for natural brown craw & look at the prices. It's insane I have that and a few others nib that I'm afraid to throw. I have a hard time throwing a $20-25 lure. One worth $75 or so makes you start wondering if the difference in new and old really matters lol.

It would be nice to have the option for a silent runner too, but those old ones that are "silent" don't ever run straight.

His mold was made from an old style WW. He uses the lead balls and also offers a silent model. Check him out. http://www.predatorbassbaits.com/id69.html Scroll down the page about half way. These are unpainted.

I was searching eBay last night & stumbled upon those unpainted baits. Honestly, I thought it was a gimmick but now I might consider buying a few. The lead rattles & silent runner might do the trick. Thanks for sharing & Happy Thanksgiving Mr Hughes.
