Members Grant Miller Posted November 17, 2014 Members Posted November 17, 2014 I did a search of this forum concerning the legality of using rubber legged flies, such as a nymph with rubber legs or the Madam X. It seems that there was a regulation change at some point that made rubber legged flies legal in fly only zones. I went and read the definition of a fly, and it seems that the rubber legs would still be illegal to me. So, it seems that my version of logic must have some sort of a defect (not the first time). Can anyone clarify the rule/law change so that I don't wind up on the wrong side of the law? "Life is like a beanstalk, isn't it." ~ John Geirach
moguy1973 Posted November 17, 2014 Posted November 17, 2014 I'm pretty sure they aren't allowed. You can substitute the rubber legs for Metz/Umpqua SuperFloss and it works fairly well for legs. -- JimIf people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles. -- Doug Larson
fishinwrench Posted November 17, 2014 Posted November 17, 2014 Foam and Rubberlegs are legal in Z1, Z2 and Z4
Members Grant Miller Posted November 17, 2014 Author Members Posted November 17, 2014 There seems to be some conflicting information here... "Life is like a beanstalk, isn't it." ~ John Geirach
moguy1973 Posted November 17, 2014 Posted November 17, 2014 Is that a BSSP only thing fishinwrench? Last I heard, unless it's changed too, rubber legs weren't allowed at Montauk. -- JimIf people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles. -- Doug Larson
Wayne SW/MO Posted November 17, 2014 Posted November 17, 2014 I think the "constructed on a single point hook" is the key. Rubber legs are not synthetic bait. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
laker67 Posted November 17, 2014 Posted November 17, 2014 Foam and Rubberlegs are legal in Z1, Z2 and Z4 I'll bite, where is z4
snagged in outlet 3 Posted November 17, 2014 Posted November 17, 2014 Foam and Rubberlegs are legal in Z1, Z2 and Z4 A little early for a doobie eh Wrench?? Pete
fishinwrench Posted November 17, 2014 Posted November 17, 2014 Z4 begins where the concrete ends. AKA; Bennett Spring access on the River. Oh, it's legal in Z3 NOW I guess. Isn't C&R open in the park now? I don't even drive thru the park when I go down there anymore. The place depresses me and ruins my mood, so I purposely bypass it most times.
NoLuck Posted November 18, 2014 Posted November 18, 2014 Show me a stimulator that don't have rubber legs. Or a foam beetle. Or a crane fly. Rubber legs are legal at the trout parks. Been using them for years.
