Pepe Posted December 9, 2014 Posted December 9, 2014 Is anyone working one of the new Duo Realis or other type Spybait ? Product data indicates that the bait should be effective when jerkbaits are working.
Bill Babler Posted December 9, 2014 Posted December 9, 2014 Threw it quite a bit yesterday on a day that I caught probably close to 50 fish and could not get bit on it. I was fishing Bull Shoals and it was a day to remember. Had to move 2 times to get away from the white bass and could get nothing to touch the spinbait. They ate a megabass Stain Reaction that had a custom painted chartruse belly completely up. Replaced the back hooks 2 times as they were impaled so hard I would break the hook trying to get the floppin suckers off. I had 5 walleye with 2 keepers lots of bass, and the whites were just unreal. Nothing touched the spinbait. http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com
Feathers and Fins Posted December 9, 2014 Posted December 9, 2014 Got them in at HLS last week and loved the colors and sizes. I will probably get a few for working over the smallies. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
Pat Magee Posted December 9, 2014 Posted December 9, 2014 I picked up the G-fix to throw on my bait-caster and I am still working on getting the retrieve/depth levels down. It is definitely a lure you need a little practice with before you figure it all out or so it seems.
Members Clete Posted December 10, 2014 Members Posted December 10, 2014 Way to go Bill, sounds like you had a fantastic day.
Ham Posted December 10, 2014 Posted December 10, 2014 If other lures are working well, there really isn't any reason to throw the spy bait. It is a finesse bait. It doesn't shout for attention and it isn't necessarily a fast way to fish. Our lakes should be perfect for spy baiting. That's why I keep trying to figure it out. It has not been as productive as I would like to this point, but it may work best when other things are non productive. I do at some point expect to beat down some white bass with it. I think it could be the lack of grass. Keep reading about it working well up north, etc.
Ham Posted December 10, 2014 Posted December 10, 2014 I love fishing submergent and emergent vegetation. I really miss that. Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish
Sac River Jim Posted December 11, 2014 Posted December 11, 2014 a buddy won the ABA on stockton saturday throwing a jerk bait. He made a special trip to my house that night to pick up my Duo 80's for the polar bear next day. he got smoked!!!!!!! Ive had limited success on them but im with Ham i keep thinking they will start working when it gets colder. I spent too much money on them to think otherwise lmbo!!!!!!
Quillback Posted December 11, 2014 Posted December 11, 2014 Jim, do you mean he smoked the fish on it, or he got smoked by the other guys in the tournament?
