Members Kevin Vam Dan Posted February 16, 2015 Members Posted February 16, 2015 Of course I'm not the real KVD. The real KVD is Kevin Van Dam...look at my handle. How many fish do die at the weigh in? I have fished numerous tournaments during my lifetime. The tournament directors seem to do a great job of releasing the fish alive. And those "trophy ponds" that you speak of...what is the first rule you see on every single one??? That's right...catch and release. Maybe, just maybe, there is some kind of correlation.
smbasser Posted February 16, 2015 Posted February 16, 2015 I would say 95%+ of tournament fish go back. As a tournament fishermen, we take pride in making sure no fish die. You can look at results from omtt, anglers in action, Joe bass, etc and see not many fish are dead upon weigh in Aggressor1988long 1
Aggressor1988long Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 Hello fellas,my brother in law shane said he,has quite a few friend's that have caught big muskie from fellows. So,if you know, him thats my brother.
oneshot Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 Agressor, Why in the world would anyone keep a muskie? They are rare, and they are a true game fish. I bet you eat more crappie than that fish could ever dream of eating. Bass, catfish and walleye also eat crappie. Should we kill all of them too? And crappie are nowhere near the primary forage of a musky...just FYI. KVD Met a Guy over at Pomme, said he caught several Bass Fishing. Would cut them open throw them back. I know stupid but seems several feel the same. oneshot

No reason to blame one fish for your lack of ability to catch another. TheBeardedTay 1 Â Â

Flysmallie Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 I dunno. If I lost a half dozen 22.00 jerkbaits to a bunch of darn musky's I'd prolly wanna start knifing them. I've fished hundreds of days on Pomme and never caught a single one. There are two fish that I stuck that might have been muskie but I never saw them. My dad caught two in the entire time that he fished there. What I'm trying to say is that it isn't something that happens a lot. Oh and Pomme bass still like Rogues just fine, no reason to throw gold at them. Either way it doesn't make it right ad it's illegal. If I go down to taney to catch some rainbows and all I catch is browns is it okay if I toss them up on the bank for the buzzards? They aren't native so what difference does it make. Â Â
fishinwrench Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 Yeah I guess I shoulda said.... If I start loosing multiple jerkbaits to musky then it's time to quit bass fishing and start musky fishing. trythisonemv 1
