Members reelhawk Posted January 1, 2015 Members Posted January 1, 2015 I would probably be one of the guys you consider a "lurker" as well. My parents live down there and Table Rock is my favorite lake to fish so I like to keep up with what is going on down on the lake even though I live in Des Moines. I don't post much since I only get down there a few times a year and probably won't get to head down that way again until May.
Bill Babler Posted January 1, 2015 Posted January 1, 2015 Randy, I think Champ was clearly addressing you. He is right, sometimes the bottom of the page on specific topics that either have lake sections for banners or specific baits as banners get lots of lookie lou's. And he did point out that lots of those are coming from folks that are not fishing due to frozen water to the Artic North. We always appreciate posts and responses from those locals that fish here on a weekly basis. It is the blood of any fishing forum, up to date current and relevant fishing information. Most of the gang here that post on a weekly or daily basis are just exceptional with their hard earned "If you can call it that," information. We all appreciate it. I think we also have folks looking that just do not feel comfortable posting. And of course Champ is right in folks that it is just flat all about me, that will never post. You take the good with the bad and this fishing forum is for sure about the good. God Bless and Happy New Year to you all, posters or lookers. fishingaddiction 1 http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com

Old plug Posted January 1, 2015 Posted January 1, 2015 Champ You have no idea who might be reading I these post. General fishing discussion discussion about tackle techniqiue and that sort of thing is fine. Telling exactly the what, when amd where of fishing some body of water is really of limited value anyway. Patterns can change in a instant and often do. So even If I did post that stuff it will not guarantee a good trip. Beside who knows what he does with what he does when heisdishing. Does he handles the fish after he catches them propeely or does he rip the hook out of their mouth or throat because he does not have the experience to remove one or set the hook properly. Does he followgoodxonservstion praxtices as to limit and size. Chances are you.will not be there to see. So if you do not want to attact insects you do not leave food on the table. Well I can understand some of you posting like you do about spots. Your in bussiness down there. Its sort of like selling points for everythimg from you bussiness to overpriced tackle. Then for some others it is just self promotion under the guise of being a good guy
Daryk Campbell Sr Posted January 1, 2015 Posted January 1, 2015 Moskeeter, and oldplug, Just remember what makes this a forum is the give and take. If we all continue to only take, eventually no one will continue to give. I don't fish most of the time due to family, jobs, so on. But when I do, usually I get skunked, and still post what I did. I am not near the rock, but enjoy reading about it. Was down in April, caught one bass, my report is there. fishingaddiction and Champ188 2 Money is just ink and paper, worthless until it switches hands, and worthless again until the next transaction. Members TTJJ Posted January 1, 2015 Members Posted January 1, 2015 Sorry Champ 188. Lurking is cheaper than cable TV. As for contributing – zoro.com has a good price on a Marson HP-2 rivet tool to attach a new springfield taper-lock bushing, and only $5 shipping. eBay does have the cheapest price with free shipping, but after reading a few of the sellers 1* ratings, I decided to pay couple more dollars at Zoro Tools.Â
Old plug Posted January 1, 2015 Posted January 1, 2015 The whole thing stared over Lurkers going and fishing their spots. I understand your situation and I sympathize with you. These people are telling you however where to go and what to fish with and the chances of it being of value when you get there are not good. There are just so many other factors to consider after you get to the spot. If I was you I would have a small selection of lure and study how to use those. Then use your basic knowledge of fish behavior and go find the spots yourself and you certainly will. I have told a friend that owns a tackle store about the location of a soecific crappie bed. It took only a couple weeks before the place had boats on it from daylight to dark. He isstill my friend but I do hot tell him such things. So that is why I do not talk about those specific sort of things. I might say something like we caught them at about 10 ft in the brush. But if you ask me what brush pile Do not expect a answer. If I do ot will be the same one I was given years ago. They are where you find them. That is the best help I can really give.
Members OutdoorHomey Posted January 1, 2015 Members Posted January 1, 2015 Wow. This forum is a great place and I appreciate ALL who post. I think the web is all about lurking, trolling or whatever you call it its just the nature of things. Some of us can't get out to wet a line much so it's awesome to be able to look on here and see what is going on. I'll start posting some info too, might not be interesting but if it makes a better forum then great. Maybe I can post my gas used to fish caught ratio or something like that! Happy New Year!
Daryk Campbell Sr Posted January 1, 2015 Posted January 1, 2015 Not looking for sympathy, but thanks just the same. I understand the rant, and appreciate it being brought to light. I don't believe it's about starting trouble or any motives to keep others out of specific areas. I believe it was cut and dry, 'if you CAN contribute, do'. MeatintheFreezer Posted January 1, 2015 Posted January 1, 2015 Oooops. I saw my name at the bottom of the page while reading this thread, so I better post something. I havent had my boat on the water since June, but if I was fishing right now I suppose I would be looking for balls of some ambiguous bait fish along a limestone bank and use a generic spoon to try to catch them. I would tell what rod/reel/line combination I would use but I dont want to give out to much informaiton. Thanks to those who post and who get to fish regularly. My job, family, money, hunting, etc. prevent me from getting out as much as I woould like. I enjoy reading about people who are getting to do what I wish I could be doing. Remember - If at first you DO succeed, try not to act surprised & quit while you're ahead.
