Yeah, what ST said.

To lighten the jersey debate, look up "The Pro Staffer" on youtube.

Funny stuff right there.

I have jersey that I wear when I go fishing.

Legend is on the front because that is the boat I have.

Joe is on the front in case I forget my name, I guess?

Ryals across the back because, well, I never have understood the last name on the back deal...

Highland Park Fish Camp logo is on the back. Because that's my family in Florida, and they are guilty of infusing this dang obsession in me in the first place.

I have a Legend sticker on my back glass of the Tahoe as well.

Am I sponsored? You bet - my wife loves me enough that she not only recognizes that I work hard for our family; but also understands that looking forward to tournaments is, sometimes, about all I have to get me through tough weeks at work.

I feel better now, back to your regularly scheduled program already in progress

At the end of the day does it really matter what someone is wearing on their back or what their boat is wrapped with? I go to the lake to catch fish or at least give it my best shot, I couldn't care less if I see a pro or a poser out there. I pay no attention either way....I have never left the lake thinking about what ad I saw on the water. I do think about all the things I could have done differently on the trip that just might have affected the outcome of the day. I am just happy to be out there fishing and not thinking about anything else but what might catch a fish. No one made me a judge of others and I am happy to not be burdened with that responsibility. Focus on what makes you happy and you will never stress about what makes someone else happy. Life is far too short to carry the ridiculous burden of worrying about someone you do not have any ties to.

Champ (and those who think alike)

I personally don't think it makes one look like a goober. I only state my opinion because it is meant to be a positive one. Unfortunately this evil world is full of "envious people." Ones who are jealous of others and what they have. For me I don't believe it's necessary for one to be sponsored by, or getting a "kick back" from a particular franchise just to advertise what they like to use. Examples are such as this: I purchased a humminbird unit for $800.00. With that came a beautiful sticker which I display on my boat. I'm not sponsored by them, should I not have that? I also have a "bowtech" sticker on my truck, again not because I am sponsored by them. It's because I like to use their product. As I look at your picture profile you have a photo of the Arkansas Razor back photo. Are you getting a kick back from the university? Probably not, does that make you look like a goober? I don't think so. Others may. Should we really even care what others think. "No."

Several years ago I was looking at a boat on "Craigslist" it was "Busch" wrapped. I don't even drink. But the boat was the right price. Ultimately I did not buy the boat. Would I have looked like a goober? "I guess so" according to you. Do you think they are trying to say, "I'm a pro look at my boat it says it all." Most of them are just trying to enjoy what they, as well as many of us love to do. William Penn once said, "The jealous are troublesome to others, but a torment to themselves." Can't we just all enjoy what the good lord has blessed us with? Can we not just observe another fisherman on the water with a wrapped boat or not and say, "Thank you god for allowing us all to enjoy this great sport." I am a recent member to this forum, I'm also in law enforcement, so thick skin, I have it. But this is already the second time that I have read negative posts. I hope this isn't a reflection of this sport. Because if it is, I don't want to be a part of it. God bless you all and have a great day.

Well said, Enforcer. And thank you for respecting my opinion. Moreso, thank you for what you do every day. Be safe out there and welcome to the forum.

I'm not affected either way. I just roll my eyes and go on. 5 years ago I would have probably done the same if I could have afforded it. The older I get the less I care what others think. I'm not out there to impress anyone but myself. A wise friend of mine told me years ago. The older you get the smaller your circle gets. Meaning , you find out over time who really matters and who doesn't. My apologies if I come across negative. Just stating my observations.

While we are out fishing they run a kids tournament off the city docks. They have about 250 kids each year. I sponsor the kids bye supplying each and every kid a bag of plastics from my sponsors Keep in mind they don't give them to me I buy them at a reduce cost. But with out them I could not do this. So in turn I try to get there name out there as much as I can. This is the thanks I give them in return.

Buddy - I agree with Champ and the others.....I especially admire folks like yourself that are trying to get kids of all ages into doing something other than sitting in front of a TV or holding something in their hand other than a phone or game controller!!!

The matching shirt deal with the wife is totally different deal. Her reasons for wanting to do it are not the same. I say do it if it makes her happy.

It was Neon yellow Sore Thumbs....NEON YELLOW!!! ....you could have spotted us from space for as bright as these were...but you are right it is because of her that I have a bigger boat so I would have worn it if she really pressed it.
