Gavin Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 I doubted it for a long time...till I tossed one in my swimming pool. There is quite a bit of action packed into that little bait. Cut it a bit longer if using a longer hook. You don't get 2 worms from one bait, but it works if you don't have the tiny hook jig heads.

moguy1973 Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 You guys said the sickle type hooks are junk right? -- JimIf people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles. -- Doug Larson
Ham Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 You guys said the sickle type hooks are junk right? No Sir! The barb on the #2 is small to the point of almost being non existent and the gap seems "funny", but I have and will continue to catch fish just fine on that jighead. I have since gotten a line on some jigheads with #1 matzu sickle and I think it is better than the #2. The Matzu sickle is inexpensive, but very useful hook. It may not be the absolute best on the market, but it ain't junk. IMO. Super Dave feels otherwise. Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish
moguy1973 Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 Nice. Found a source of some of these for a good price then. -- JimIf people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles. -- Doug Larson
Ham Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 Look at the hooks carefuly prior to using them. You may have a half dozen or less per 100 that aren't worth using. The LOW cost more than offsets that. Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish
Guest Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 the great hook debate. Just make sure theyre the right size & dont buy bronze eagle claw hooks & you should be fine Give me mustad or give me death......
Travis Swift Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 I use the sickle alot on the ones I pour however I have found the hook breaks alot. I use them fun fishing though because they are cheap. When I fish a derby I use gammys that I pour in mine. Last year here in Kansas I caught 5 fish over 6 pounds and a couple over 7 pounds on the Ned rig and they came on the sickle hook head. When they are breaking is when I'm hung up. They are sharp rascals though
Ham Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 Lol, hopefully it won't come to that CC. Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish
Travis Swift Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 Off topic a tad but what are your guys thoughts on the TRD? I have used both the TRD and the zinker Z and I'm starting to think I like the Zinker Z better. I think it has a little more movement?
