Hunter53 Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 Gonna be on TR wednesday and thursday after picking up our boat. If any of you see a blue and silver Charger swing over and say Hi. We will be in the Kimberling City area. Any current tips on fishing that area would be greatly appreciated.
gitnby Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 I would try a jerkbait first thing in the morning. bluff ends, main lake and secondary points with wood. Then, I would work the Ned Rig on mixed rock banks in pockets, inside of points or transition banks back up in creeks. Schooner, White's Branch and Fisher would be good choices. Also, in those creeks, I would try to find the rolloffs into the channel and use your electronics to find that 35-50' depth. Spoon or grub will work if you can find the schools on the graph. If not, then move out to about 55-60' and throw a FB jig towards the bank and work it back.
dtrs5kprs Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 Clearly Don has not been informed that none of those creeks have fish in them. Champ188 1
Hunter53 Posted January 28, 2015 Author Posted January 28, 2015 Thanks a TON!!!! That should give us plenty of things to start off with.
Champ188 Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 Wish I could offer some more options but gitnby absolutely nailed it as far as what Donna and I have found lately. Just gotta move around as best you can while being careful not to fish too fast in this cold water. Once you catch one, you're liable to catch several in a small area. Good luck and have fun out there. I'll be fishing this weekend in the cold and the rain.
gitnby Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 Last Saturday, right before dark, I was throwing the FB jig in about 40-45' on a creek roll-off. caught one good one and marked several others, but had to get back to the house for some of Mama's pot roast. And anyone who has seen me knows I don't miss many meals. Fishing is fun, but very unreliable. Pot Roast is a slam-dunk sure thing keeper every time! Was planning on hitting that same spot again on Sunday, but between the crappy weather change and several projects around the house, I never got to it. Heard from several others about marking fish, but not getting them to bite on spoon, grub or drop shot. Sometimes draggin that FB jig right through them will get em stirred up? Champ188 1

Champ188 Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 I would but I'm still waiting on a PDF of your company logo so I can include it on my jersey. Since I bought some Ned heads and like them, I'm now sponsored by you. Right? crazy4fishin 1
