Quillback Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 Well the wind made it tough for me today, I like to fish slow and relatively deep, and a good gusty wind just messes me up. I caught 4 bass, 2 were keepers, one being a near 17" spot that I was happy to catch. All came on a 1/8 oz Ned tipped with a Zinker chunk. Threw a tube around for a bit, missed 2 fish on it. I think they wanted to bite today, just could not slow down enough to catch them like I wanted. Talked to a fellow that was out throwing an A-rig, he had only caught one on it. Water temp - 41. Ham 1
Members JRD Posted February 4, 2015 Members Posted February 4, 2015 Nice fish, thanks for the report.
Champ188 Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 That's a darn pretty spotted fish, QB. But why does it have a cat turd in its mouth? I know what you mean about the wind. I thrive on it 10 months out of the year but it's just hard to do what you need to do in January and February when it blows much over 10 mph. As always, thanks for the report. Gonna be interesting the next few weeks to see what this weather does. Just hope it doesn't jack up the spawn. Told Donna the other day, I wouldn't mind seeing another flood year. Not to the point of opening any spillways and damaging people's property, but a good spring flood nonetheless.

Don't go digging around your litter box for Ned rig parts.... Ham 1
Guest Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 anymore of these posts about Ned fish & I might have to point the chevy towards Eagle rock
merc1997 Bo Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 quill, we had about the same results today. i think 10 fish without a keeper among them. the wind did really make it hard to get the bait down before the boat was past them, or you were trying to fish with a big bag in the line, and that would lift the bait off the bottom resulting in no bites. bo
Quillback Posted February 4, 2015 Author Posted February 4, 2015 I agree on the "We need some rain" thoughts, I'd love to see 917-918 myself by the spawn. Ham 1
