Feathers and Fins Posted February 13, 2015 Posted February 13, 2015 I BET we start hearing that if the walkout/strike whatever they want to call it at the ports in California don't get back to unloading soon. Your thoughts? https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
awhuber Posted February 13, 2015 Posted February 13, 2015 It is good for my business when the port is closed. We prototype and get production going on parts and then they move the part to china. Some of these parts have to hit an assembly line JIT. So the buyer will call Yes we can make the parts for you. Yes we can make the deadline. No they are not still $0.55 each anymore...
Feathers and Fins Posted February 13, 2015 Author Posted February 13, 2015 Maybe this will teach the companies to stop going overseas and start building in America again, but I doubt it. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
awhuber Posted February 13, 2015 Posted February 13, 2015 Maybe this will teach the companies to stop going overseas and start building in America again, but I doubt it. We are getting some "re-shoreing" but this happens every few years and some folks never learn. It looks good to the boss when you turn a $0.55 part into a $0.10 part. However when you have to buy that part for $1.90 by the thousands a few time a year to keep the screaming eagle* flying, how are you saving any dough? * assembly line

Flysmallie Posted February 13, 2015 Posted February 13, 2015 If nobody here has a job, who buys the product that the part makes? Well I think that those that do have jobs should buy it for those that don't. ness 1 Â Â

Ham Posted February 13, 2015 Posted February 13, 2015 What should concern us more is that most of the drugs used here in the US are made overseas. They do not have the same quality regulations and there is a large amount of drug counterfiting as well. We have put ourselves in a bad spot since a nation like China can shut off supplies of vital drugs at the drop of a hat. Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future.
