Been eating out too much lately, but did manage a home cooked meal tonight. Nothing fancy, but it tasted darn good. Hamburger done over charcoal on a nice bun, roasted asparagus from the back yard, cole slaw, fruit salad and some baked beans from one of the local BBQ joints. Had a Boulevard Kolsch with it.

Wanted to work some morels into the meal somehow, as there were some kids ther that hadn't had them. Searched a good spot from last year this afternoon and found just one. Hope my tick-to-mushroom ratio is less than 1-1. That mushroom will go in some eggs tomorrow. Couldn't see dividing it 6 ways.

No pics--iPhone not sharing pics well the last few days. Trust me, it looked great too ??

The Ribeye roast. I could have pulled it about 30 to an hour sooner. But this was my first ever attempt and I just eyeballed it

Shakshuka tonight.  I'm finally going to give it a go.  I'm using the rough recipe inspired by Dr. Shakshuka from Jaffa Israel.

How did it turn out?  Going to give it a whirl tomorrow.  Looks like a great meal.

Baked eggs with prosciutto and asparagus and cheesy tots on the side.

Well I made kind of an order and a half because my wife and daughter weren't sure about it.  They proceeded to eat so much we had to cook a second one.  It was great and I think turmeric is a seasoning that I taste in a lot of BBQ's but never could figure out what it was.  I used breakfast sausage patty's.

Fry sausage patties brown a little on each side, smash em like steak and shake burgers and then dump in jalapeño pepper, onion and garlic and brown a little more.

Dump in tomatoes and season with salt pepper chili powder smoked paprika cumin and turmeric.  I put some seasoning on the meat after I brown the onions too.

Bring to a rolling simmer and put in eggs right away and simmer till eggs are done.

Grill pan binge planned for tonight. Chicken thighs, corn on the cob, and romaine will all visit the pan. The last item will turn into a salad after it visits.

I had a bit eclectic meal tonight.  Wife had put an arm roast in the crock pot this morning, and made a big batch of sticky white rice, both of which I love.  Then said the mushrooms are yours to fix while I make gravy.  Fixed about half of the bowl of morels to go with everything.  Very very soon I will be adding wilted lettuce salad to the menu as there is now enough, radishes be danged, if they don't grow fast enough they can get left out.
