MOPanfisher Posted April 6 Posted April 6 Our turn to cool.for our Sunday group supper. A fish fry was requested and I hv3 been lucky enough to be able to provide it. So some thawed out, and some never frozen. Will be a mix of some crappie, several white bass, 3 walleye, and one eater size blue cat that atta jed a crappie jig at LOZ last week. Old fashioned meal planning, big skillet of fried taters and onions (maybe 2 skillets worth), and I believe a corn casserole is also planned. I will get to be the one downstairs in the shop, where it is cooler, drinking beer and frying fish. I might even separate the different varieties so everyone can get a taste of walleye, or i might just tell them some of the white bass back straps are walleye, they won't know the difference anyway. Maybe I will remember to take some pics of it all. ness 1

I cobbled together some olive salad, got some good meats, cheese and bread and made one. It was excellent -- one of my faves! BilletHead and rps 2 John
ness Posted April 9 Author Posted April 9 Coupla things done on the grill: future son-in-law and his dad made these Polish sausages. Just a light smoking on the grill. Delicious! Had a hankering for ribs. So, baby backs with my rub, done with apple chunks 3-2-1 method, semi-ho’made beans and tater salad. Beans are Bush’s original drained then molasses, ketchup, mustard and rub. Placed in a shallow pan and on the grill to get some smoke and a bit of a crust. Tater salad is store bought doctored up with hard boiled eggs, vinegar, yellow mustard, dill and Duke’s. Made a pitcher of sangria to wash it down with. rps and BilletHead 2 John

rps Posted April 22 Posted April 22 Buttermilk fried chicken, garlic smashed potatoes, and sauteed Brussels spouts chiffonade. I don't fry often and when I do, I use my wok. But, I had a yen for fried chicken, and it was not going to go away. ness 1

I smoked a dozen a few weeks ago and they got the smoke color but no real flavor. BilletHead Posted April 22 Posted April 22 I think it does. We will see next weekend how this batch worked.
