Anybody cooking anymore? I'm home for a rare home cooked meal tonight. Does frozen and jarred count?

Looks good still.  I have been on a quick and easy system, tonight was nothing more than browned hamburger and a can of dirty rice fixing, stor it in and done.  Sadly a bout of bronchitis or something has taken my sense of smell and taste so even though I know how things are supposed to taste, but if I couldn't see it I wouldn't know what it was.  Very soon some small zucchinis and yellow squash will be invited for supper, gonna be ticked if I can't taste my fresh veggies.  He last fresh produce was bets, wrapped in foil and roasted on grill to keep the heat out of the house.  Slipped off the peelings,  chunked them up, shook a little seasoning on them and wrapped them back up on the grill.  The texture was just what I expected, unfortunately no taste of them either.  THIS SUCKS.

I will not post pictures tonight, but I just put a good Nueske's bone in ham in the oven to reheat. I have the ingredients ready to prepare cheddar polenta and pan roasted asparagus.

What I am excited about is that after I chunk the meat off the bone, I will be able to make slow cooker Senate bean soup later this week.

So, last weekend I'm up in New Glarus, WI at the annual Beer, Bacon and Cheese Festival and I see these guys have a booth. Anyhoo -- it rang a bell; I think you've mentioned them a couple times. They had some brats out that were mighty tasty. Really, darn near everything there was tasty, plus there were a ton of craft beers to sample. Bacon Maple Ice Cream anyone?? It sounds nasty, but tasted a lot like butter brickle. Not greasy.

To answer your question Ness Cooking? Yes some but I think I gained twenty pounds looking at your food pictures from the trip. Have not tried much new but I have been doing some sniping from the back porch shooting the faces off of squirrels. Up to fifteen since season opened and only lost one front leg. I was a bit off on that shot. Been looking up some recipes and found one we may try tomorrow using a few of the tree rats. Bought a new toy and tried it out last weekend making Sichuan fragrant duck for the umpteenth time (good stuff right there).    Sucker born every minute and I hate Cabelas sale flyers but it will be used all the time. Better than heating up the house in this hot weather,

Got a real good cure on the Wok. Just a rinse with hot water and wipe out after use.  Fire up the burner or throw in the gas grill to dry. Who says there isn't an easy button?

We have tried their applewood and cherry bacon, both sliced and slab, their ham, their brats, their wieners, and their kielbasa. So far I have found every product superior.to Petit Jean bacon, the Braunfield Texas products and even Hebrew National and Nathans hot dogs. And they deliver via UPS! Once on their list, they send frequent sale flyers.

Hmmm.  I'm gonna need to check them out. Delivery is a good thing as I haven't seen them in local stores.

I was in Hermann, MO a couple weekends ago and there is the Hermann Wursthaus there. Outstanding brats and sausages. My fave was a roasted pear brat. Lebanon Bologna too. Dang. Brought a bunch of their stuff home for the freezer. Gotta work my way through that furst. ?
