Have a buddy that loves his Moscow Mules. Uses a particular brand of ginger beer that he mail orders but forget the brand. Tasty but I'd rather have a gin & tonic with lime and a couple splashes of Angostura bitters (Hemingway's recipe). Hendrick's gin preferred but any will do.

I put bitters in Margaritas.  Will give it a whirl in my next gin and tonic.  I'm a Beefeater's guy now, converted from Tanqueray.

Funny, I've bounced around from gin to gin. Thought I was a Tangueray guy for a long time, then it was Boodles. Then Bombay, Brokers, Plymoth. Decided I like the label on Bombay best, and the price is right. So that's my gin for the moment. Ought to find a reason to like Gordon's at half the price ?

You should try Sears and Roebuck Gin.

It's mail order.  Catalog is in the little house out back.

Not too picky about gin. Plymouth Navy & Hendricks are great but any you mentioned will do well in a g&t. Usually mix 1/3 gin 2/3rd tonic by eyeball. Fill cup with 1/2 ice, float cubes with booze, add tonic, 2 splashes bitters in a cocktail glass or other small cup, 4 in a solo cup. 1 lime wedge for small, 2 for big. Sip then adjust to your liking.

They don't taste any better out of a copper mug. Mostly did that for the gf.

What are you guys using for Ginger Beer? She got some Fever Tree, but it's too pricey. I found some Goslings, but it's a little pricey too.

I use left hand brewing's Good JuJu

Well I finally got caught up in this thread and I am tired but now I get a chance to get a word in.

My property up here on the north edge is full of paw-paw trees.  I just can't stand the thought of free food on the ground going to waste.  The paw-paws are good but leave an aftertaste.  An ice cream store in Edwardsville was selling paw-paw flavored ice cream last year and claimed they used butterscotch to counteract the aftertaste.  Has anybody heard of this?  And I can't imagine what form the butterscotch is in.
