You nailed it. 10 was too short, 20 was too long.

You're  looking pretty close there buddy.

Very Wabi-Sabi!

Your meal photo was made perfect through its one imperfection ???

We decided to go super simple tonight. We have thawed and will pan roast smoked bratwursts from Nueskes. I will saute sauerkraut with caraway seed to plate with the links. We will also bake some tots and put together a grapefruit segment and feta fruit salad.

You have to love meals that take minutes to make.

We can only wonder what the sharp-tongued Flysmellie had poster's remorse over ?

(The Flysmellie wasn't intentional, twas a failed autocorrect I let stand. Twice.)

Back when we used to butcher hogs we cured the bacons and hams out, at first the bacon was possibly the saltiest thing I ever ate, but quickly learned to make it right, and had some of the most delicious bacon ever.  Honestly never really considered just buying a belly, (face palm moment).  I have a brand new, still in the box electric smoker sitting on my porch, hmmmmm.

Go for it MOPanfisher! Day late here, but sliced up my bacon last night. Had to run to town earlier in the day,  so I grabbed some tomatoes and had BLT's. The bacon turned out pretty good.  Didn't take any sandwich pics, but did take a couple of slicing pics.
