Contemplating Soup for the family soup competition . Thinking beer bacon cheddar this year. Have to cater to middle of the road flavors. The won't eat excellent gumbo, loved the bland taco soup, would not eat the turtle soup cuz it had real turtle meat in it. What do you think they will like?

Months ago I posted a walleye chowder you might try.

Haven't been on social media much the last week. Fighting off a stomach bug and a bad mood - neither of which should be shared.

Feeling better this weekend.

Friday was pizza night and Saturday was enchilada casserole.

I just finished sesame noodles for tomorrow night. Shredded chicken and crushed peanuts will go on top. Chilled asparagus salad on the side.

I have a bread pudding in the oven for tonight and for sharing with a friend tomorrow.

Actual dinner tonight will be a bacon, chard and mushroom risotto.

I will edit to add pictures later.

Closed the cement pond and my wife made chili. My daughter is making the cornbread now. Hope to dig in soon.

Chix Noodle & Dumps are good but won with those before. Will be bringing both but won't be on the competitors table. Will be 30-35 pots total, maybe 12 competing.

Sounds like a good chicken noodle soup crowd.  Smoke a chicken or turkey, pick the meat off the bones and boil the bones down in some bullion for the goodness in them and stock for the soup.  Then wild rice or good egg noodles and as much of he meat as you like in the soup.  Option I have used is potatoes and carrots so that it is like a pot pie soup.

Yes yes yes!

I have used leftover smoked chicken and Lundberg Wild Blend to make a Smoked Cajun chicken and wild rice soup. WOWZA!

Oops. Placeholder post not a great idea. Got interrupted and didn’t come back to edit/finish.

Re: Soup. I wouldn’t even know how to approach it from the perspective of trying to win, so I’d just make something I like myself.
