It all sounds good fellows but where are the pictures?,

I will make up for the missing photos. Beef and Bok Choy stir fry today.  I like Bok Choy, raw or grilled but this was a first in a stir fry.  Heated up a bit of peanut oil and added shopped shallots, ginger and a thinly sliced serrano pepper. Stirred until fragrant,

thumbnail_0318181230[1].jpg Added in the thinly sliced beef for more stirring approx. Three minutes,thumbnail_0318181232a[1].jpg

In goes thick slices of Bok Choy stems, thumbnail_0318181235[1].jpg Stirring up another three and then slivers of the tops,thumbnail_0318181237a[1].jpg

Cook these down still stirring and then add sauce/ thickening of Beef Broth and corn starch stirring until thickened a bit,thumbnail_0318181238[1].jpg

Bowl up and a sprinkle of fresh cilantro if you choose and eat pretty healthy,

thumbnail_0318181241[1].jpg    Says it will serve two to three. I can tell you we ate the whole wok worth :) . Next time it will be made with Canada goose or venison.

Not much in the way of real, from scratch, home cooking this week.

Jarred sauces can be a good starting place. Penne with Prego dressed up with some good olive oil, Parmesan and parsley.

Tonight thawed out the leftover Beef and Guinness stew and served it over some champ potatoes (thanks for the info Mr. Folly). Made a bunch of taters so ness 2.3 could take some home, but he’s on serving 3 and I don’t think there will be any anything left.

Irish Soda Bread

2 ½ cups flour
4 tablespoons sugar
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon salt
1/3 cup cold butter
1 ¼ cup buttermilk
1 cup dried currents, raisins or cranberries
Raw sugar

Mix all dry ingredients. Cut in butter. Stir in buttermilk and fruit.

Knead 10 times and form a ball. Sprinkle raw sugar over the top and press in lightly. Cut ‘X’ in top.

Place on parchment paper on a cookie sheet and bake at 375 degrees for 40 to 45 minutes.

Because of obligations I kept a strip steak at 130 for five hours in a sous vide.  When i seared it I wound up with a medium rare close to medium, but juicy. The potato also went in the bath and then was finished in the high heat oven.
