Until then, hang in there and keep on trying! And my best buddy who's dead now would say to smile while you're doing it.

tapout Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 All taxes get passed down to the final consumer. Corporate tax. Use tax. Fuel tax. Import tax. They all get passed down through higher prices for goods and services. I'm not against reasonable taxes with fair and equal representation that are necessary for an advanced civilized society! Corporate greed is not the problem, but the result of an ultra intrusive government that regulates and taxes the small business and the middle class out of existence is. (forgive me, just ranting and probably overstepping this threads purpose) We live in a great country with great freedoms and I'm grateful. As out of balance as things seem they are still good with the potential to be great. I buy American made when all things are equal, but I ultimately spend my money on the product that gives me the most value/quality for my dollar. That's freedom. It's also capitalism. Forcing and limiting our choices, not matter how noble the ideal, is not conducive to the working class. (just my opinion) Phil Lilley, Terrierman, gitnby and 1 other 4 I'd like to thank my FUTURE sponsers: Falcon Rods, Jewel Bait Co, and Seagar

jeb Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 Well said and spot on. Agreed. That is a very well stated post on what is really driving our jobs overseas. Sad, but true. John B 08 Skeeter SL210, 225F Yamaha
dblades Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 i know exactly where you can buy jigs, spinner baits, and bladed jigs that are made in the USA. just launched a series with a Trokar hook, and that means even the components are 100% USA produced. you are exactly right. when are manufactures going to figure out, that when there are no jobs here and not anyone working, who is going to have money to buy there cheap products????? our government is also a problem with manufactures going overseas. my small company got audited by the irs. the new federal excise tax laws passed to fund obamacare say that 10% excise tax is to be paid on what we are selling the product for. that is taxing labor, and when we raise to accomodate the tax, which is passed onto the consumer, they get 10% of what we raised the price. the irs guy admitted that many small companies are shutting their doors, or figure out how to take manufacturing out of the country. everyone needs to be rgith down our congress reps and senators throats. bo Sorry Bo but the 10% excise tax, based on the SELLING price hasn't changed because of Obamamcare, it's been that way for many years. If you raised the price to account for the tax, you aren't paying the right amount now, at least that's the way it was explained to me..

I think if you read tpierce's post about he and his Son, you will understand the difference between empowerment and entitlement. His Son was empowered and encouraged, and I have no doubt he will be successful at whatever path he chooses in life. Unfortunately, since the New Deal (which was a good plan at it's core), each succeeding generation has expected more from the government, or felt entitled that they deserved something for nothing. Most of the taxes we pay today are a result of our politicians trying to keep the votes by giving away stuff to gain the acceptance of the next generation. Unlike tpierce and many of us, Parents today think that the way to gain their children's love and acceptance is by making things easier for them and giving them everything. Hence, the cycle continues! Champ188 1

Very, very well said, gitnby.
