Sore Thumbs Posted February 27, 2015 Posted February 27, 2015 But what if someone drops a beehive in your boat? You won't be able to take off real fast. :-) Champ188 1
Macsimus Posted February 27, 2015 Posted February 27, 2015 PS, I remember now why I don't look at the BBC board, everyone and his brother are selling something and the bickering back and forth and the name calling are just to me unbearable to put up with. Not for sure there is one solid lick of any kind of information that I would covet from that bunch. If you spend any time at all in the BBC Lounge, it would be hard to disagree with this attitude. However, there are some folks on that site that are an incredible resource and donate a tremendous amount of their personal time assisting others. Two exceptional examples come quickly to mind. Mr. Jones: http://www.bbcboards.net/electrical-wiring-trolling-motors/463613-talon-power-pole.html and, Don Weed who moderates the Mercury forums. You might answer that they are doing it to grow their own businesses and while that is no doubt partially true, I can personally vouch for the fact that both of these fine individuals have helped me greatly with absolutely no compensation. Neither are likely to ever receive much of my business as they are 900-1100 miles from me. "There was a time that I didn't fish, but I cannot remember it."
Bill Babler Posted February 27, 2015 Author Posted February 27, 2015 Of course you are right. I should not have thrown a blanket over the entire group. Pretty stressful reading however. http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com

Winter is especially bad. Lot of cabin fever afoot. ☺ "There was a time that I didn't fish, but I cannot remember it."
Champ188 Posted February 28, 2015 Posted February 28, 2015 Hey Bill, since you are getting grasshopper legs, can Donna and I have all of your deep waypoints? We're thinking about swearing off of bank beating. We're also in the market for some drop-shot and spooning rigs, along with assorted other deep sea gear. fishingaddiction and crazy4fishin 2

BBC is great when you need to fix or troubleshoot something brand specific. If you just broke it, somebody else has done it before, and will help get you on the road to fixing it. Just increasingly tough to deal with the rest of the stuff that goes on. Champ188 1

I put MK Talons on my Z521 and love them. They are helpful at TRL as I mostly fish by myself and make launching much easier. Fishing LOZ a few weeks ago, they were great for dropping and holding in a pretty stiff wind. I went with Talons after seeing/hearing they fixed some of the bugs. I was also doing the install myself and didn't want to attempt the hydraulics. The mounts are rock solid and the tilt mount makes them easy to stow.
5bites Posted March 8, 2015 Posted March 8, 2015 Thought I'd throw this on. I installed my 8' talon today. It is way way quieter than I expected. I'm very pleased. The installation was simple as you'd expect. I'll be at the thing at eagle rock next weekend if you'd like to hear it. That was the only part I was worried about and it far exceeded my expectations. Also "they" say that the 8'ers are the noisiest ones.
