Quillback Posted March 14, 2015 Author Posted March 14, 2015 Can't make the derby but I'll kick in 2 free paint jobs. You guys can pick what place gets them. Thanks Tim - I think it would be great to give one paint job to the winner and add one to the drawing.
5bites Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 Well I feel like I'm offering go kart rides after John Force says he'll take you for a pass in his funny car. Earlier this afternoon/evening I sent a private message to Quill about offering 4 painted baits as a prize. Since then I've been heading to the lake and dealing with all that stuff. This can be four of yours or four blanks that I have on hand. Keep in mind I'm an amateur and in no way shape or form claim to be someone that knows what they're doing. I just wanted to contribute to the cause somehow and this was the best way I could think. It was either this or a $1000 bass pro gift card. So I'll paint baits. So however it shakes down you could be the poor sucker stuck with some junk baits I slapped paint on. Whether it's one person with all four or two people with two, it makes no difference to me. So just a disclaimer because I feel kinda stupid. I had planned this and sent the message before Hughes posted his generous donation. Hughes is the man. I'm a pee on newbie. For your sake I hope you win his prize not mine.
Champ188 Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 Don't be so hard on yourself, man. You sound like me! Your paint work is plenty good and it's very generous of you to offer it as a prize. Tim has been doing custom paint work for gosh knows how long and has been featured in Bassmaster magazine. We don't expect any amateur to match his work. Good luck tomorrow and thanks again for your donation. Sac River Jim 1

I think your on the right track.
5bites Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 Well you've got to admit, the timing is a little unfortunate ha ha. It would be nice to get a few out there to get some critical opinions and durability testing too. I have no intention on making it a business though. It's just fun to mess with. There's a steep learning curve to a good part of it. For me anyway. I kinda thought about offering up a rod repair instead but with everybody living so far apart it wouldn't be handy for anyone. I'm just excited to meet some members. My boys will have a good time too.
Donna G Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 Sure everyone's on the water and won't see this, but I texted Bill that I dipped up a couple of jars of my homemade 'pink stuff' lotion for hard-fishing hands as a little drawing giveaway. It's not much of a donation, but the five pounds of tater salad will hopefully raise my stock. Donna G Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 Glad you liked it, Bo. Champ spent his lunch time gabbing and missed out. He has to ride home with the empty bowl. Fun outing. Enjoyed meeting folks and getting to visit a spell. rps Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 I enjoyed meeting ebveryone as well. Thanks QB, Phil, Bill, and all who contributed.
5bites Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 The tater salad was worth the drive, boat gas, and rain. I really enjoyed meeting you all. I hope this becomes a regular thing. Sac River Jim, Champ188, Donna G and 1 other 4
