Ham Posted March 23, 2015 Posted March 23, 2015 It would be GREAT if there was a way to get that recognition without the fish having to die for it. Yes, its just a fish, but I wouldn't kill a big ole fish just to get a state record. That's just me though. Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish

I've seen the way MDC handles potential records in the past, they wanted to kill my 36lb 14oz possible record channel catfish just for a sample. I let it go back where she came from
Jerry Rapp Posted March 23, 2015 Posted March 23, 2015 just for thought. Any State Record fish has already spread it genes many times over. A state record bass, or other species maybe, could bring the lucky fisher person $100K plus in endorsements, especially if caught in public waters. Any record caught in Private Water should have an asterisk in my opinion.

Lol, We'll have to ask that guy the compensation he got for the Gizzard Shad record. Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish

Ham Posted March 24, 2015 Posted March 24, 2015 IN ALL SERIOUSNESS, They sell a lot of shad darts and stuff like that for the shad runs on the East Coast. I'd love to go fish those shad runs some day. Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish

Members Walleye Jenkins Posted March 28, 2015 Members Posted March 28, 2015 The white bass on Bull Shoals are some of the largest around. The life span of a white bass is not that long compared to most fish. But it would be nice to know the actual weight and measurement just for documentation. Nice fish.
