fishinwrench Posted March 27, 2015 Posted March 27, 2015 Well in theory a "fast canoe" is going to cut through the water better, making it more efficient in current, taking less paddle strokes for drift corrections ect. They are also more "tippy" at slow speeds though, and I don't like that tippy feeling when I have $2k worth of fishing gear in it. I'd rather feel secure and do more paddling and drift correcting. ness 1
ollie Posted March 27, 2015 Author Posted March 27, 2015 Ok, I found a Disco 119 for under $700 and I think I am going to pull the trigger on this one. Brand new from factory and on its way to the store. I really like the Native Compass on the KC Paddler website, but I can't get much communication from them. That and it will be over a $100 more after I drive all the way up there and pay taxes on it and all that. I'll probably take the Disco and customize it like I want. Guest Posted March 27, 2015 Posted March 27, 2015 Ive convinced myself to buy the NuCanoe (aka the Tank) Its heavy & slow, expensive. However, my son could stand up & walk around in it without it tipping over. Stability is at the top of my list, I can turn over a canoe in 2ft of water. Bull in a china cabinet I guess.

You need 2 feet of water to tip one??? I can easily do it in 4 inches! Them ramps can be slippery. John

Guest Posted March 27, 2015 Posted March 27, 2015 I didnt want to admit that I turned over our buffalo canoe in inches of water trying to hot rod a log jam. Me & the canoe both got tangled up in the logjam as my wife looked on in disbelief. Walking it around the logjam would've been way easier, but NOOOOO, I had to show off my skillz!
snagged in outlet 3 Posted March 27, 2015 Posted March 27, 2015 Seriously ? It's like...Solo-----Plus. What??!! Are you "like" a typical white girl now? Pete fishinwrench 1
