fishingaddiction Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 Good fishing Hammer. Those are better numbers than has been reported lately, so good to hear. Born to Fish. Forced to Work.
Bill Babler Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 That is probably the best trip of the year on this board to date, other than vertical fishing for the deep ones. Wonderful trip, thanks so much for sharing it. Any 30+ bass day on the Rock is a Goodin http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com
Quillback Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 I got a reliable report from someone up there on the 24th that had a similar day on the Wart. Just when things seemed to be breaking loose we get these darn storms.
kjackson Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 Guessing from the floodwaters still running down the streets of Eureka, and the flooded state of Leatherwood Creek, it's going to be a while before the upper end is fishable.
Champ188 Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 These storms won't kill the bite. Mark Davis won a BASS derby here in March 2004 by running TO the dirty water up the White River. There was a 5-inch rain the night before the tournament started. Main-lake water that week was 43 degrees, but Mark found 50-degree water running into the lake. As the tournament progressed, he stayed in the stained/warmer water by moving with it each day. Incidentally, he threw a spinnerbait and vintage Wiggle Warts that he got from Jeff Fletcher. There's a pretty good series of articles about his week online at: http://www.nighthawkpublications.com/journal/2/journal243-1.htm There are links at the bottom of each article to take you to the next day. 5bites Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 That was the tournament that opened my eyes about runoff and how shallow fish will get in cold months if the conditions are right. Cold muddy water is bad. Dirty water that's warmer that the rest of the lake ESPECIALLY when the sun comes out can be down right awesome. I wish I could watch that tournament again. If someone has it recorded please let me know. It would mean the world to me. Ham 1
5bites Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 Thanks for the link btw. It was neat to read it broke down day by day like that. Champ188 1

Just mind your lower unit. It is going to be a mess up the river. Unfortunately, I don't have it. Wish I did. I might. Might also be on YouTube. You can find the odd episode there.
