I had planned to take my boat off the lift at the marina today and drag it to Rogers for the 300 hour maintenance needed to keep my warranty intact. When I arrived there this morning, I had to make a new plan.

I backed the trailer into the water at the gravel swim beach on the point. I walked the quarter mile back to the marina for the boat. I only had to "icebreaker" about 30 feet of debris to reach open water where I could motor around to the trailer.

The main channel is not as muddy as the Leatherwood runoff in the marina cove. The debris was packed solid by the North wind.

Might be a reason for folks to cool the excitement over the rise and the dirty water. Hate getting that stuff all over the trailer. You also never know what you might back your prop into coming off the trailer. Not everything is floating on top.

the water under that sawdust will warm up very fast with some sun. The ned won't penetrate it unfortunately. Champ and Donna will figure it out real quick.

No obstacle if you use the "Punch Ned"- 3 oz Ned head, but you still want to tip it with a 1/2 Zinker.

Somebody needs to call one serious plumber.

Well...I actually have experimented with punching it in overhead cover (mostly grass) using about a 1/2oz tungsten bullet pegged with a bobber stop, and either an Owner RigN Hook (about 1/0-2/0) or a flip hook. Last flip hooks I used were from Cobra, 3/0. Either needs a worm stop on the hook, shrink tube or a pin of some kind. Did it with 30# braid, diameter about 8# equivalent. That is with the cut stick.

In 2011 we fished it in, around, and flipped it into the bushes that were still flooded in June. Used the 1/16oz head and the usual 6# line. Caught some good brown fish, and broke more off. Fun though. That was before the weedless head. More or less like pitching a crappie jig in bushes.
