Everyone screws uP -show me someone without fault.

It's the new way of handling things. If someone does something that doesn't set well you are now required by law to complain about it on a social media site. This world is turning into a sad, sad place.

I had to splice mine a while back, totally my fault on it parting. It was as simple as rewiring anything.

A. Get wire connectors

B. Shrink Tubing

C. Lexell ( elastomeric caulk )

D. Wire

To do it I simply slit the wire 10'' and slipped on 2ft of shrink tubing, then I added wire connectors to all the severed wires. I lexelled the area and the wires where the tubing would cover. With a hair dryer I heated the tubing and was done. Very simple and lasted for 6 months till I ooppssed again and broke the transducer on a rock and had to replace it.

Interesting, seems Marine Repair Center would be more interested in doing the repair. It sounds similar to repairing a cut phone line. What type connectors did you use? Do you happen to still have the broken cable, as mine has a broken pin? I can likely find one closer, but??? have friends in Rogers. Thanks for the ideas

Just connectors that you get at any auto store. and no I threw away the old one it was beyond saving.

Thanks, just to make sure I am understanding it was a SI? It has just wires in it? I have cut many underground phone cables building cable tv lines, I carried splices with the calk in them just put them together squeeze. quick easy. Bet some broken ones around. Thanks

HDS 5 structure scan unit transducer. if I remember right like 4 wires wire sleeve and then plastic cord. Put the connectors to the wires caulked over then caulked up the wire and ran the shrink tube up so when I heated it, it would be water proof.

Stagger your splices over a 4-6" span so you don't end up with a big set of dog testicles, and it will withstand the bends and flexes just fine.

Thanks, will find a broken one to play with, for mine it will go under front deck so no flex so bad look just need a broke Humminbird Si for the plug.
