fishingaddiction Posted April 17, 2015 Posted April 17, 2015 Good find Cody. That video mixer put up was awesome. Are you going to try some of those turns? Born to Fish. Forced to Work.

motoman Posted April 17, 2015 Posted April 17, 2015 If you do, make sure your batteries are all strapped down. Preferably by metal.. Ask me how I know- hahaha- You sure said it there mark! - My old Basscat had those plastic battery trays; running up the lake a few miles a couple springs ago in rough water, stop to fish.......no trolling motor power?!?!?? - Start to troubleshoot and find out the plastic battery trays brackets holding them down had shattered, and bounced my battery out of its tray, pulling wires loose.:-(.........the ride was not THAT rough.........those things must be made for pontoon boats! - After that, only metal battery trays for me. - (And tell the Mrs. We LOVE her products! Got a good variety of her lip balms after the winter.:........ http://mrsbsoap.com/products ) Codywskeeter1521 1
mixermarkb Posted April 17, 2015 Posted April 17, 2015 Thanks Motoman! I'm really proud of her, she works really hard at formulating her products and making sure they work well. Her soap has pretty much ended our son's battle with excema. I had never paid any attention to soap, always just used dial and called it done, but it really is amazing how well her stuff works and how much better your skin feels without all the chemicals in most mass produced skin care products. Flysmallie Posted April 17, 2015 Posted April 17, 2015 My dad had one of those Champions when I was in college. Best driving boat I have ever been in and if I never turned it over then it just can't be done. It was an absolute rocket ship on water. Codywskeeter1521 1 Â Â
Champ188 Posted April 17, 2015 Posted April 17, 2015 Cody, it might be a good idea to have someone who knows what they're looking at to check over your steering system on that boat. A lot of bad mishaps with older boats happen because of poorly maintained steering systems. Ulrich probably did this but it would pay to be sure. Nice rig. Hope she carries you on many a memorable trip. Codywskeeter1521 1
mixermarkb Posted April 17, 2015 Posted April 17, 2015 +1 to what Champ said. Cables *usally* bind up and steering gets really stiff before they break, but it's always good to check them out, metal fatigue is a real thing. Codywskeeter1521 1
Members TTJJ Posted April 17, 2015 Members Posted April 17, 2015 Do not drive like the Champion or the crash YouTube videos!! Codywskeeter1521 1
GNSfishing Posted April 17, 2015 Posted April 17, 2015 That was their fix for the prop becoming loose after running it a few times. The torque spec to seat the rear bushing is 100 ft/lbs on the tempest plus II props with that newer bushing..
