dtrs5kprs Posted April 18, 2015 Posted April 18, 2015 Not sure what is up, but I am struggling if it is actively raining, or if a front is rolling. Between and after are fine. Had a couple of keepers, handful of shorts before the deluge. Ducked it and took a nap on the boat in a slip at Schooner. Right after the rain there was a crazy bite on shallow K's in the runoff color. That did not last long as it cleared quickly. Got on kind of a strange swimbait bite. Will keep details close until I can prove it was not a fluke. Suffice it to say, they were crushing diesel minnows on a 1/4oz head. Not the usual swim type bite though. Temps are up, spots and blacks are on beds. Have to imagine brown fish are also, just not where you can see them. Lots of shad in the backs and up on some banks. That had a big impact on the swimbait. Will get pics up. Eventually. Close to worn smooth. huntest and Macsimus 2
willyfish Posted April 18, 2015 Posted April 18, 2015 I was looking at those diesels today, those keitechs are one and done from what I hear. I'll be down Wednesday. That nap in the boat sounds like the deal for sure. Ham 1

Longball22 Posted April 18, 2015 Posted April 18, 2015 Use super glue with the Keitechs and they will last longer. I had one fish throw it on a brand new one, but the next one lasted through 8 or 10 fish without any issues. Just depends I guess. I was out yesterday in Kimberling City as well before the rain. Was struggling, but saw this guy harassing some shad and decided to step in. He went just under 3lbs, and I had been itching to see if my new tuned thundersticks worked. I followed up with the Keitech and caught several more in that cove over some trees.
dtrs5kprs Posted April 18, 2015 Author Posted April 18, 2015 Swimmer was a bust today. Old reliable kicked butt, eventually. There are some good brown ones up shallow. Donna G and Sac River Jim 2
