brittsnbirds Posted April 25, 2015 Posted April 25, 2015 I would like to stress the need to have your waist belt "tight". Those of us that have taken a misstep and gone down know the need to keep the water from coming in. Hopefully one of our contributors did and was successful in not drowning. I know he didn't drown or his brother would have said so. Just a friendly reminder out there to those that wade at BSSP around the gauge house. There a few boulders that you miss at times and they will dunk you. Believe me I've been down twice, once at the the Gauge house!! BE Careful!!
upstream Posted April 26, 2015 Posted April 26, 2015 Rumor has it that a legend at bssp took a spill to day . He was last seen by the top of his hat and flyrod in hand floating down stream gasping for air from the bone chilling waters of the spring filled stream .
NoLuck Posted April 26, 2015 Posted April 26, 2015 Hah!! You guys are funny!! Didn't take long to blow up the phone lines I see!! Luckily I only got one side of my shirt soaked up to my shoulder. But it all ran down onto my waders. It's a good thing it wasn't too cold. I don't know who was laughing more. Me, or the people at the gauge house with a bunch of kids. ??
oneshot Posted April 26, 2015 Posted April 26, 2015 And this is why you cast Jigs from the bank. LOL oneshot
rcguy Posted May 23, 2015 Posted May 23, 2015 WOW, I can't believe what Im reading! I haven't been on here in awhile and now to find out Noluck almost drown. I'm sure he never let go of the Winston!
NoLuck Posted May 25, 2015 Posted May 25, 2015 Jerry. I'm still alive and well and so is the Winston. If I would have put my hand out quicker and let go of the line that I was bringing in a fish with I wouldn't have even fell at all. I could have caught myself on the same Boulder that I tripped on. Oh well. I landed the fish after I got back up. laker67 and Phil Lilley 2
rcguy Posted May 26, 2015 Posted May 26, 2015 Gla you're ok. I have a real fear of tht anymore. Maybe it's the trifocals. The wading staff has been a godsend in the rocky areas for me.
Gavin Posted May 26, 2015 Posted May 26, 2015 you are not fishing unless you take a dunk occasionally.
Seth Posted May 26, 2015 Posted May 26, 2015 I've taken a few spills. The worst was when I had just got a new pair of waders and the water was dingy. Literally my first step in was right on a slick piece of wood that I couldn't see due to low visibility and I went down and put a rip in the knee.
