Sac River Jim Posted May 8, 2015 Posted May 8, 2015 How is the best way to work it. read some the articles that dtrkeepers has posted on the tablerock forum or i'm sure if you pmd him he would be glad to help you. he has helped me alot with it the last year.
Hunter91 Posted May 8, 2015 Posted May 8, 2015 This conversation sounds similar to the Alabama rig conversation when it first came out. I don't think the Ned rig or the A rig will affect fish catching significantly. I still catch fish just like I did before either bait came out. I don't see scores of dead bass anywhere on the Rock or Stockton and I fish one or the other 2-3 times a week. It's just another bait to catch fish.
Old plug Posted May 8, 2015 Posted May 8, 2015 I think the new thing about the Ned Rig is the marketing approach. Dave did awhale of a job. A lot of frustration and hard work I bet Dave. But it is nothing new and the whole thing is like the rage over the Big O many years ago. The whole thing is catching fisherman. Like most everything else on the market now days. slab slinger and Sac River Jim 2
Daryk Campbell Sr Posted May 8, 2015 Posted May 8, 2015 While I try to stay out of these negative posts about the Ned, it bothers me to see people complain about it not being new, (no one has really said it was). Or the complaint of it catching small fish (so do many other lures). Or those who complain about Dave promoting it. I'm very glad that he has and does. About the gut hooking, someone posted a pic of a wart that was swallowed deep. Can we say treble hook gut hook? I'm sure that fish did not live, yet no problem there. Thank you to the members who post useful information on here. Please continue, I really enjoy reading about your success and failure. To those who only complain, remember what your mom told you, if you don't have any thing nice to say, say nothing at all. Sorry, rant over. fishinwrench Posted May 8, 2015 Posted May 8, 2015 Just curious about our evolution as anglers if we only said nice positive things to each other. Ahh your not patting me on my back right now so therefore you must hate me ? Bambi's dad was a lousy psychologist, let's not learn too much from him, OK?
Old plug Posted May 8, 2015 Posted May 8, 2015 I am not complaining. Just stating a fact. I also sid dave did a great job promoting it. And he did for sure. It is just after 70 years fishing I just do not buy it.
Daryk Campbell Sr Posted May 8, 2015 Posted May 8, 2015 Nah, I don't even hate those who only bash others on here while not contributing anything at all. Heck even my post was on the negative nature that I was ranting about, guess I should hate myself. Just tired of reading posts that complain about a method that has not had a chance to defend itself. And those who complain about it most claim to have never used it. Been a long time since I have seen Bambi, so I am not sure what you wanted me to take from that. fishinwrench Posted May 8, 2015 Posted May 8, 2015 Been a long time since I have seen Bambi, so I am not sure what you wanted me to take from that. , remember what your mom told you, if you don't have any thing nice to say, say nothing at all. Our mom's got that saying from watching Bambi. It was Bambi's daddy,..... then mom forced it into your brain from an early age and now you've grown up thinking that is the best method of operation, when in fact it is detrimental to honest and forthright relations. Nothing at all wrong with speaking what you truly think IMO. Sometimes you are swayed, and other times you sway others. This is how we learn BEST. Daryk Campbell Sr 1
inshore Posted May 8, 2015 Posted May 8, 2015 the ned rig has been around for years. the guy who made it popular just refined it with the mushroom head and the elezatek baits. that being said it will catch both big and small fish it catches more small fish because in many instances you fish it where they live. I find using it at Stockton I get hung up a lot so I use a split shot rig with the same bait and reduce hangups by 90%. I find if you use it is better to fish it very slow and have caught fish in 20 fow many times.
