if you can't get some from dave, and have to stop at BPS I have used BPS shroom heads, but i trim the lead collar off. Or you can get the Zman finesse heads. don't forget the loctite gel superglue.

We will be careful with boats: I used to canoe on Lake of the Ozarks...learned the value of bright colors and staying away from busy channels there.

As for the NED rig, can you link to specific jighead you would use from Bass Pro? We are stopping by there on the way in anyway, so I will just buy some there. I have fished a lot of tubes, grubs, chompers, etc, (and plenty of tiny jigs for crappie) but it sounds like you guys use something a little different for this.

I've looked and read a little, but it's still a bit confusing without a good primer/pictures. I imagine fishing it is easy, it's the rigging that's a bit more confusing to me (specifically the type of jighead and how to tune it). Do you use any specific colors? I assume green pumpkin and craw colors work well. Anything else?

Thanks for the help.

I'm not sure what BPS will have on hand. Have been told they were out of most heads that were in any way close. I am running about a 10-14 day lead on new orders for my heads, and going hammer and tongs to stay that quick. Pouring now, and my daughter painted about 225 or so this afternoon. Those are already spoken for, along with what we have poured this evening. Pretty soon it will depend on whether we can get the Mustads, may have to go to all Gamakatsu just to have some heads available.

If you can find them, the Zman heads will work, the BPS heads will work, and there are some round heads that will work in a pinch. The 1/16oz head from Outkast also works, and is the head I started with. None of those are a weedless head. Keep hooks in the #2 range.

Dave's heads are better but these will work. Fin and Feather (just South of Bass Pro about 5 or 6 blocks still on Campbell) will have them in bags of 50 for cheap or individual if you want to go that way. You will need to trim the weed guard some. Do get the elaztech worms, they really do work better, PBJ and Canada Craw are the only two colors you need. Technique? When you can't stand the thought of fishing any slower, fish slower.

what are they and where do you get them? Sounds like many options are sold out. I am going shopping for components at lunch today to make some of these up for my trip to table rock friday. appreciate it. (located in springfield if it matters. been to bass pro and walmart without much luck. trying finandfeather today)

Gamakatsu finesse jigs work great too but they are about $2.00 each. They will have them at BPS. Whatever you get, be certain to get a jig head with a guard.

If you need some by Friday, you can order these from Tackle Warehouse, have them sent 2 day. I used them before I started buying heads from Dtrs5kprs and they work just fine. Even though it is a ball head, you can still super glue the Zinker to it. Get the #2 hook.

If you are still looking for heads check out Ozarks Extreme Outdoors just south of Silver Dollar City. He just got a bunch in this last week. They are the Finesse Shroomz heads from Z-Man and he had all colors and sizes when I last checked. Good Luck!

I'm with the rest of the guys on here, the Ned rig works and is a lot of fun, especially when nothing else is working. For Table Rock I really like PB&J and Green Pumpkin, but I'm sure the other colors will work just fine.

Let us know how you do. Enjoy!
