Buzz Posted May 10, 2015 Posted May 10, 2015 Sorry to hear this. RIP Wayne. If fishing was easy it would be called catching.
ollie Posted May 11, 2015 Posted May 11, 2015 I'd like to share a funny story about Wayne. He shared this with me on our first rodeo and I about died laughing. Ever since he told me this story I called him "The Goat Killer". When he was younger like 10-12 or somewhere in that age he lived on a farm in Northern Missouri. Like anyone of that time period on a farm you had to kill and clean your food for substance. Whether it was butchering a pig or killing a chicken for supper it was just a way of life. One day his dad needed a goat killed and was going to do it himself, but young Wayne told him he was old enough and could do it himself or at least that was the plan. Now Wayne had seen his dad and grandpa kill a goat before so he didn't see it as that hard. What could be so difficult about whacking a goat from behind the head and killing it? One sharp blow and the deed would be done. NOT! As Wayne told it he walked up behind that old goat and his hands were shaking cause he had never done this before, but he was sure of himself so he was fairly calm. He reared back and swung that big old club as hard as he could and smacked that old goat on the back of the head. From there things just went downhill. All in one swift motion that goat turned around and head butted young Wayne right in the nads! Of course his dad and grandpa were looking on and I guess they had a good laugh over that as well. He told me he could taste his own oysters for days after that! lol I don't know about you, but I'm thinking a goat head butting you in nads can't feel good at all! Of course the story was much more funnier when we were sitting around the campfire with a brews in us, but I never forgot that one. ness, Harps, J-Doc and 1 other 4 "you can always beat the keeper, but you can never beat the post" There are only three things in life that are certain : death, taxes, and the wind blowing at Capps Creek!
stlfisher Posted May 11, 2015 Posted May 11, 2015 Sorry to hear of his passing. I always enjoyed his posts and opinions and the forum. Prayers to his family.
