Remember one thing Cody, KVD (as great sas he is) has never won a derby on the Rock. I have fished the Rock for over 40 years and still get humbled many times. I am retired, so I fish mainly during the week and at prime times. The moral of the story is NOBODY catches them every trip.

Very true. I guess i never realized kvd has never won the rock. Thank you. I'm looking forward to the days when I'm retired and can fish on those prime times. Those days are many many years away. Guess that's why we work to get there one day.

I think of T-Rock as a woman. Very beautiful and awesome everyday that I get to see her. However, she can tick you off quicker than a hook getting into your finger. Also, she can turn you on when you least expect it. Take the good days and smile. Bad days happen more often than not. Just remember you are "fishing" and that is all that needs to be said. Good luck next time.

Well...there is one bait you could get seriously stuck on, that pretty much eliminates fish free days. As Ham has started calling it, the beetle grub without a spinner.

I caught many fish on the ned last week also on my GO TO bait 3" swimming minnow by CrappieTown.com, but the fish I caught would win many tourneys at least down here. Best limit would have been 16# average about 12#. Tons of fish 12" at a time!

BTW dtrs5kprs, I got the heads, thanks. If I can dodge tornados Saturday I'm going to try them on Arbuckle Lake, small lake that is sorta a mini TR with HUGE fish (in March a guy LOST a tournament with 44.7# stringer!!) I'll let you know how it works!

Losing with 44# would be enough to make you quit. Good luck!

Tried to talk a guy that was a much better fisherman than I, to try spooning deep trees off a point in a night tourney...said it was the stupidiest thing he'd ever head.....every point we crossed shallow to deep, flasher lit up as soon as we hit deep side......Team that won the tourney that night ? spooning while tied to a treetop in 40 foot of water.....(guess reference to flasher kinda dates me) passed the winners 6 times that night .....as we hit shallow points/backs of creeks all night long...cuz that where they was supposed to be...
