Most areas of the lake it is too subtle for me to actually see, but the fish definitely sense it.

When generating above minimum flows at Bagnell it becomes a factor in where the fish set up to feed. There are no absolutes but fish will often be on the down current side of points or even better brush piles or other structure on those points. If the water color is mud like Wrenches picture above(and likely how it will get in your area if not already) I would look SHALLOW first, but on the down current side of points or better yet brush, logs, docks, etc. on those points. They may be relating in an entirely different way but when they are moving water you can often find a fishable pattern.

I always check the current factor by calling the Ameren Lake Report(537-365-9205)before I head out and start looking with my electronics; today the report states they did pull the lake down .8 ft yesterday but plan to slow Bagnell outflow and open up Truman to hold or bring LOZ up slowly this weekend - fishing should be good.

I typically do not fish mainlake stuff so current or amount of generation is not something I care about. All I care about is whether the level is coming up or going down.

Trying to pattern fish via current on this lake is futile unless it is noticeable to me IMO.

There are times when you can throw a jig/worm on one side of a dock and before it hits bottom it is almost to the other side. Times like THAT then yeah the current is a factor. Otherwise....nah.

Great help guys thanks for the info going to take my son out this evening if the rain holds off. He likes texas rigged worm I like spinners and ned rig but I think the ned rig isn't effective in muddy water conditions is this correct?

The little rig works just fine in dirty water. Have caught them in chocolate milk with it many times.

Jerry called it. I only caught a few shorts pitching black worms and lizards, and a few dinks on a buzzbait. The better ones were all over that big Spinnerbait.
