mixermarkb Posted June 24, 2015 Posted June 24, 2015 Fished 2 PM to 8 PM. 10 LMB, to the boat, seven keepers, two in the 4 pound class, lost one a size class bigger at the boat, trying to get the net unstrapped. Rookie mistake. Grr. Whoever says bass fishing isn't a physical sport has never thrown a 1 ounce deep diving crank bait all day while running the trolling motor in Lake of the Ozarks boat traffic. My arm feels like it's gonna fall off!! Water temps 80-82, main lake points, water stained but not what I would call muddy. Fish24/7 1
nomolites Posted June 24, 2015 Posted June 24, 2015 Nicely done. You can always go next weekend if you want the ultimate challenge.....at least I've found, as you did, that the fish don't much care about the boat traffic. That's why I love the spot lock button on my motor.... Mike
mixermarkb Posted June 24, 2015 Author Posted June 24, 2015 Wrench, I'm sure they were relating to brush piles on the points, but since I'm a LOZ newbie, I didn't have specific brush piles in mind. I also didn't want to run the boat over the 15-20' range I was fishing looking, so I just tried to do my best to cover water once I saw bait on the electronics
fishinwrench Posted June 24, 2015 Posted June 24, 2015 I was out yesterday as that storm passed North of us. I really thought the bite would be on, and apparently it was for YOU, but I could barely get bit. I threw a 5xd for awhile and bumped some brush....Nothing, then went back over it with a worm but only picked up a few shorts. I probably could have caught some good ones shallow but it was calm enough to fish mainlake stuff and I didn't want to beat up on my good shallow areas. I was afraid to run very far because that storm looked like it might dip down and hit us.
WeekendWarrior Posted June 24, 2015 Posted June 24, 2015 Went out last night for about 4 hours around tan-tar-a area and could only muster 1 good keeper and 5 shorts. Could not get bit on main lake points and pockets. Caught fish 3/4 way back in cove on round flat points using jig. Water here is a heavy stain with shad everywhere.
mixermarkb Posted June 24, 2015 Author Posted June 24, 2015 What boat were you in wrench? I was in a light gold/black champion with a 225 opti The bite was on. I was moving that crank pretty fast, also caught a couple on a 5.8" keitech with a 3/4oz head, using the swimmer as a follow up to the crank. I had a c-rig laying on the deck but I never picked it up.

Especially when getting your boat close to a bluff or chunk rock to retrieve a snag.
