Anyone have any pros or cons on specific of types of nets for using in the boat. How long or how wide?

What are you fishing for ?

Nets in a boat are a pain but I guess if you're fishing for toothy critters or big cats they are nice to have.

Big Trout on light line. I have lost two nice trout at the boat due to the line snapping as I reach down to land them.

I use a 3 foot handle net with a rubber snag proof net. It's small enough to fit in a rod box out of the way wxcept for when I need it so it's ot really in the way. Five pound bass and trout are about all the bigger it will handle, but 99.9% of the fish I catch arent near that size.

I have a rubber net that is round. Baits can't hang in it. I'd have to measure it, but I think it has about a 28 inch diameter. I have a smaller rubberized mesh that has measuring marks on it to get a quick and dirty guess at length. They make that one in various sizes so you could get a big one if desired. The one I have would handle a 30 inch fish.

Best net's I have found and use. I use the 29 deep rubber net. when you unscrew the handle it fits right in your rod locker at the end of the day. Durring the day I just lay it on the front deck. I love the fact it extends out to 60 inches, if your a walleye angler or full time troller they also have a 108 inch handle extender.

I have one of these also, except mine is a different model. I like it. I have had one issue, the foam handle wrap split and came off fairly quickly.
