abkeenan Posted July 4, 2015 Posted July 4, 2015 I'd rather be 100-150 out than 100 or less. It feels great to hit it long off the tee but I pay for it when I'm too close. I'm sure many of you have played with older golfers who don't hit near as far as you do. They will kick your but every time. They don't get a lot of birdies but they will par you to death. The older I get the more I am learning this to be true. I have a few buddies that whoop my butt who are 260 off the tee but straight as an arrow and consistent. I am basically the "Tin Cup" of the group. I always go for it. I will have a blowup hole because I am going for an 250 yard 3 wood to try to eagle a par 5. When my body breaks down and says you can't hit it 300 yards anymore maybe my brain will finally listen.
Bill Babler Posted July 4, 2015 Posted July 4, 2015 they will wind up in storage next to the spybaits and color selector, ph meter, and Oxygen Sensor. Carry on. Jerry, I'm with you on those spybaits, probably about the biggest waste of money I have ever done in fishing gear. If they will hit that spinbait they will hit a hundred other baits in your box that you already have that you are not using. They are much better over some grass. As soon as some starts growing in 40' at TR it will be game on... Champ188 1

Only time they have worked is when there is a top water feeding frenzy going on, but as Bill mentioned, they'll eat about anything when that happens.
rps Posted July 4, 2015 Posted July 4, 2015 Thats a good point. I cant remember the last time I lost a topwater bait. Plus with as many keitechs as I go through I dont have any room to talk. Lost one today on a big fish that I could not turn out of the brush.
abkeenan Posted July 4, 2015 Posted July 4, 2015 Lost one today on a big fish that I could not turn out of the brush. If she's big enough to take my topwater bait from me I'll gladly let her have it. Hope it wasn't one of your TH custom painted Top Dollars.
