Quillback Posted July 6, 2015 Posted July 6, 2015 Caught some drop shot fish, all spots, and picked up a few on jigs off the steep banks. Maybe 2or 3 of the spots would have been keepers. Super Happy Crazy Time started about 9 AM today, with that and a stiff breeze, made it hard for me to stay in the main channel. Caught 14 total, water is murky, 2-4 feet of viz, temp 82-83. huntest and Muddy Water 2
Duck Posted July 6, 2015 Posted July 6, 2015 Quill, it is crazy here at HI where the lake narrows down, the wakers are tearing it up. I can't understand why, even if they are not pulling boards behind them why they have to see how much wake they can put out, I watched a 18 foot Tracker almost get swamped yesterday. They must have a bunch of $$$ to spend on fuel going that slow. Be safe, Duck.
huntest Posted July 6, 2015 Posted July 6, 2015 Quill, were they blasting real obscure obnoxious music too?
Quillback Posted July 6, 2015 Author Posted July 6, 2015 Only heard one blasting music, hard to hear the music over all the engine noise. huntest 1
Codywskeeter1521 Posted July 7, 2015 Posted July 7, 2015 I took several over the nose of the boat over the weekend. Not very fun scared the crap out of my son. It's definitely a challenge trying to stay put on those suspended fish. Thanks for the report
Ham Posted July 7, 2015 Posted July 7, 2015 Better you than Me QB. Wake Boats are an abomination. Those things make jet skis seem like a blessing. Codywskeeter1521, Quillback, Champ188 and 1 other 4 Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish
OldMillRoad Posted July 7, 2015 Posted July 7, 2015 This is why I turn into a vampire and go nocturnal after Memorial Day. It's a complete waste of time since fish don't bite after dark............. magicwormman 1
Quillback Posted July 7, 2015 Author Posted July 7, 2015 This is why I turn into a vampire and go nocturnal after Memorial Day. It's a complete waste of time since fish don't bite after dark............. I'm starting to think about that, except going very early in the morning to get a couple of hours of pre-dawn fishing in. magicwormman and OldMillRoad 2
Browning Guy Posted July 7, 2015 Posted July 7, 2015 The James between Cool Water and Buttermilk was out of control with goof balls running every direction this past weekend. Someone is going to get hurt because of the ignorance/arrogance of many of these "boaters". The water patrol blew through about 10:00 a.m. on Saturday while numerous people followed skiers, wake boarders and tubers less than 50-60 yards behind them. Wild, wild west of 30' - 40' cruisers. Meanwhile, LOZ shutdown boaters to idle speed to protect docks and shoreline. Think the Corp will protect TR? Not a chance, too much money affecting their decision. magicwormman and OldMillRoad 2
