Fish24/7 Posted July 22, 2015 Posted July 22, 2015 I've caught more on the drop shot this summer than I ever have before. The key for me has been knowing what active fish look like on the graph and only fishing a spot when I find those conditions. The fish seem to tell you really fast if they want to play. so very true, excellent post
johnm Posted July 26, 2015 Posted July 26, 2015 Hired bill beck a few years ago and he taught me. Now I can tell u by watching the graph if the fish is about to bite or if he left. How many and if they are keepers. These graphs are amazing for table rock dropshotting. I Am OBSESSED now. And u can't tell me that u can do that without graphs... Champ188 and magicwormman 2
Members Jenny O Posted July 26, 2015 Members Posted July 26, 2015 So just wondering the difference between spotting active and inactive fish on a graph when drop shotting. I am at Table Rock and using DS but not having much luck so far. I'm here for one more week and I need to catch some bass! I can see the fish on my graph on drop offs about 25 foot but not much success on getting bites. I've used plastic and live worms but I get more frustrated every day. Any advice would help. I usually fish from Indian Point to the 86 bridge due to where I am staying. I could use some expert advice about now! Thanks for any and all suggestions!
johnm Posted July 27, 2015 Posted July 27, 2015 Look around for them sometimes it takes a little exploring. deep docks or long shallow points with wind. Deep trees drop offs all around that 25 ft range. If u see fish and they do not bite sir then u may have the wrong color. 1st pic fish say yes and eats it. 2nd pic fish decides against it...
Members Jenny O Posted July 27, 2015 Members Posted July 27, 2015 Thank you for the advice and graph pics. Going out tomorrow morning and trying again!
Bgctrading Posted July 27, 2015 Posted July 27, 2015 Do you guys like your transducer on the trolling motor or on the back of the boat for drop shotting
Amery Posted July 27, 2015 Posted July 27, 2015 Sore thumbs I'm no drop shot expert but I can catch them on it. I'm around beaver too, if you want to go try it out send me a pm.
5bites Posted July 27, 2015 Posted July 27, 2015 Do you guys like your transducer on the trolling motor or on the back of the boat for drop shotting Trolling motor. Though some have special setups for windy days were they use the rear transducer since it's near impossible to keep the bait in the cone of your front transducer. Running in 83khz would continue me at this some. I would like to hear Bills take on this setup and what he does in this situation. It can be a blast cruising flats looking for isolated fish to drop on. There's no real science to it other than in the fall and later don't be afraid to go to any depth.
