WHARFRAT Posted July 27, 2015 Posted July 27, 2015 Wow, this weekend was brutal for me. I think I'd rather be out there in Feb at 30 degrees with a breeze, than fish in the mid-nineties with what felt like triple digit humidity. Saturday morning wasn't too bad. Went back out after dinner and it was miserable. Worked up a big sweat, just walking to the boat. Got up early Sunday, walked out on the deck and went right back in. I think it was worse than the night before. Starting to yearn for Oct weather! Thumbs up to all you that stuck it out this weekend. @lozcrappie
fishinwrench Posted July 27, 2015 Posted July 27, 2015 Yeah I'm not anxious for the cold but this is a bit rediculis. Feels good when you're zipping down the lake, but once you stop to fish it gets swampy. There just isn't any air movement. Plenty of moisture in the air though, I haven't had a sunburn even after 5-6 hours in the sun, and the fish are biting good.
Bird Watcher Posted July 27, 2015 Posted July 27, 2015 I love this time of year. the 2 season fisherman have finally put their boat up until fall or spring so the ramp is empty again and I've got a few areas that fish "the hotter the better". Drink some water, keep the sun off you and sweat it out. cleanse yourself of toxins, lol.
Old plug Posted July 27, 2015 Posted July 27, 2015 WHARFRAT ----- When is the last time you had a good heart examination. The humidity will sap you have a heart are brocial problems. I got haert things and my fishing buddy has COPD so we barely stick our nose out the door in this kind of weather. If he tried to walk, a couple miles in this heat and humidity there is a chance he would not survive. I would have myself checked out if I were you just to be on the safe side.
jtram Posted July 27, 2015 Posted July 27, 2015 This is river sittin smallmouth catching weather. *T* 1
fishinwrench Posted July 27, 2015 Posted July 27, 2015 This is river sittin smallmouth catching weather. Yes sir! I'd love to be laying in a riffle right now.
nomolites Posted July 27, 2015 Posted July 27, 2015 Saturday evening was thick if the boat was not moving, that's for sure. I would rather have it cold! But I'm the kind of guy who will sit in a tree for hours in January.... *T* 1
Old plug Posted July 27, 2015 Posted July 27, 2015 Its also the time of the year Ibused to start my deep jigging either with or without fresh shad on the spoon. those days or over.
MOPanfisher Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 We used to call this time of year when they put out warnings for old folks and little kids to stay iside, "Hillbilly Trout fishing weather aka smallmouth. Slather on the sunblock and take plenty of riffle breaks and catch a few.
