Members rdbfishing Posted August 3, 2015 Author Members Posted August 3, 2015 I'll keep you posted if we make it down. I've got a little boy myself and we may try to camp if we can find a spot.
aarchdale@coresleep.com Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 Didnt hear anything about flat heads. There were camping spots open at 125 marina. Not a ton of them due to the high water
Members rdbfishing Posted August 16, 2015 Author Members Posted August 16, 2015 Put in at Peel and went back toward Lead Hill to dive today. Vis is definitely better on Bull Shoals than Table Rock right now. Spent most of our time in the 30 to 40 ft range. Vis was decent down there like you had reported (10' to 12'), and maybe even better in a few spots?? We saw some walleye, bass and one carp, but nothing of any size. We did see lots of 3" to 5" bass in the 15' range on our first spot in the brush. We might have been to deep but I thought we'd see more fish than we did. Diving in the brush wasn't ideal so we backed out to 30+ to dive the edge of the brush line. Glad I took the wetsuit because the temp dropped around the 25ft mark and it was pretty cool down there! Wish I had more to report, but it was a short trip.
Bluff-Bassin Posted August 17, 2015 Posted August 17, 2015 Love hearing scuba reports. Puts things in a totally different perspective compared to your average fishing report.

I do a lot of fishing, especially from November to May, but I'd rather spend my time in July, August, and September below the service. Lots of cool stuff to see!

mojorig Posted August 17, 2015 Posted August 17, 2015 We have been getting some reports from some of the marinas saying they are seeing lots of dead zebra mussels. The die-offs would be temperature related. Those that are deep enough to avoid the hot water, unfortunately have lots of nutrients to filter this year. The only good thing is many will die when the water recedes. Fishin Hodge 1 Jeremy Risley District Fisheries Supervisor AGFC Mountain Home Office - 1-877-425-7577 Email: Jeremy.Risley@agfc.ar.gov
Fishin Hodge Posted August 18, 2015 Posted August 18, 2015 Mojo, I have heard rumors of possibly releasing a species of fish that feed heavily on Zebra Muscles. It may have been Red Ears, I really don't recall the name. Is there any truth about this being looked at by the AGFC??
